Default Best tool in your weight loss?

Hi guys im new. I had sleeve done March 11. I've only lost 53 pounds in 8 months. I have hypothyroidism and hashimotos. I was wondering what was the most important thing that helped you loose weight. Was it counting calories, eating a lot of protein, drinking lots of fluids or exercising?

For me, daily tracking (I use MyPlate) of calories and protein, to be sure I get enough. WATER, eating slow, and weighing daily - no magic.

    And this group
    [I]HW: 240 lbs SW: 199 lbs GW: 140 lbs

    1 MO = 167.0 2 MO = 156.4 3 MO = 148.4 4 MO = 140.6
    5 M) = 136.0 6 MO = 130.0
    1 YR = 122.0 2 YR = 140.00 2.5 YR = 139
Happy with my weight; happy with my size; over-the-moon with my health!

HI for me it was weighing myself everyday (still do) and keeping my calories very low, minimal carbs and going to the gym 5 days a week and working with a PT and doing weights. Good luck with your journey and well done for your loss so far.

ONLY lost 53 pounds in 8 months? That's crazy talk! Shout it from the rooftops that you lost 53 pounds in 8 months!! Have you ever done that before?

If you're following the sleeve rules just keep doing what you're doing. Add a little exercise if you haven't. You're doing great! We all lose at different speeds.

53 pounds? What’s not to like about that? As for your question, I’d say everything you listed is important because the sleeve is not a magic bullet. If I had to pick one thing it would be tracking. Tracking everything that goes in my mouth including water, tracking weight, tracking protein, tracking carbs & calories and tracking exercise. Sure you can lose weight by restricting calories, but the idea is to get healthy and if you want to be healthy you need to be exercising regularly.

Yay 53 pounds! That is great. Sounds like you are doing just fine.

I don't think there is just one thing it's a total change of lifestyle - well, for me it was/is.
I track my food intake, I weigh daily (that's not for everyone), I eat protein first, then green veg, then some carbs is any room - usually not. I'm constantly drinking water, I walk most days and do yoga twice a week.
Positive thinking is a biggie for me. Tell yourself that you will succeed and you will.

Keep up the good work - you are doing just fine. :-)

Sounds like you're doing great! You've been giving some great advice. I would say to remain mindful and vigilant about what you are eating. Stay "aware." Do not become complacent in your journey and feel like "you got this." The sleeve is just a tool, it is NOT the miracle. I weigh almost daily (newer habit for me), I track everything in my weight watcher app and I attend weight watcher meetings to hold me accountable on a regular basis. I go to the gym at least three days a week taking cardio and weight training classes. Continued success!

You're doing great and should be quite proud of your accomplishment!

I practice mindfulness around food and have to make conscious choices about food.

Hmm, eating a lot of proteins couldn't lead to weight loss. By the way, do you keep your thyroid disease under control? Since I started to follow a T4 treatment, I noticed that I managed to lose about 60 pounds. So, I suppose that this is the main reason. Anyways, did you follow any particular diets or take any supplements? I'm still fighting against emotional eating, and I'm looking for the best appetite suppressants. I heard that PhenQ is one of the best fat burners, but I'm not sure whether it matches with levothyroxine or not.

    Hey,

This is an interesting one to share my thoughts.

Whether you're looking to lose 5 pounds or some 50 or so, your journey ahead is definitely bound to be challenging and rigorous. But don't let that deter you from getting started! As in experts view, we know that there are some simple steps you can do that make the transition to dieting and getting fit effortlessly seamless.
Few weight loss apps available online can help people become aware of what they’re actually consuming, as well as the number of calories they consume, which is helpful because we generally underestimate the number of calories in some foods or so. Many weight loss apps can give you the motivation, discipline, and accountability you need to shed those extra pounds — and keep it off.
