    Default Excited

    Hello!

I’m Becky, from Massachusetts. I’m 39, and I started my bariatric surgery journey in February of 2019. I’ve gone through and passes all my assessments and classes. I am meeting with my surgeon this Monday, and I am very excited. I’ve made some huge lifestyle changes, as well as changed my eating habits. I’ve been with my bf for 16 years and we have two wonderful children together.I did tell my bf about my surgery and he didn’t want me to get it. But, he and I have been fighting for many, many years. I thought I needed and wanted to get myself back. While being with him, I lost the real me, along the way. I became a grumpy person. I used to ride horses, enjoy being outside and being active. Since being with him, I lost my drive to do anything. My dreams became harder to achieve. So, I decided to take my kiddos and move out. In July, we moved out of my dream home. My horse barn, we moved down the road to a tiny apartment. My kids hate it. I did it for them, too. They were constantly hearing us and seeing us fight. It needed to stop. Now, I have a little more peace in my life. It is still very stressful. I have a ways to go. I have surgery coming up. I’ve been cleared for surgery. I cannot wait for everything to fall in place. Thank you for the ear!

    Becky

Welcome to this forum. I found it very useful and encouraging to read the posts here. I hope everything goes well with the operation. Make sure you have some help with the kids first week following the surgery.

Beck7, it takes a lot of strength to recognize what we need to fix, and make the hard decisions. You are very brave.

This is a great group of supportive folks, who have found all kinds of lifes challenges, and found a way through them. You've taken great steps to start a journey.

I had horses and both showed and rode for many years and it is indeed a heart beat! Post your questions, but you are well o your way!
And welcom e to the group!

You will need at least one full week to only worry about yourself. No cooking, childcare, cleaning, driving, whatever. Two weeks would be even better. Very excited for you, I know you have made a wonderful decision to get your life back on track. You sound like a strong woman, you can do this, no problem!!
