    Default Shout out!

Thank you all for being so supportive! I had my first regain since my sleeve 2 years ago and as I confessed earlier, eating & lack of exercise were the culprits Dealing with stress has been at bay for a while before this "up turn", so a great lesson learned.

Special thanks to Kenyon! Her gentle, loving "kick" in the behind helped. I am again on track and heading downwards.

It does take a village! And we shouldn't bring refreshments!

Thanks Annie for your honesty. The big takeaway I’ve gained through my journey and this forum is that to be successful a person has to be brutally honest about their eating and exercise habits and their weight. Having a number of alcoholics within my social circle and family it has dawned on me that obesity has a lot in common with that disease - denial. Sure, there are some real physiological things that can add to our weight challenges, but we often make excuses for our bad eating and exercise habits rather than be honest about them. I guess this old dog can learn new tricks. Who knew?

Yay Annie! I knew that you would soon be back on track.

Janny, denial can certainly be an issue.
I record everything that I eat - even the things I know I probably shouldn't be eating. Seeing it written down and the amount of calories (recorded in the app I use) certainly makes me think twice. That is not to say that I don't have that odd scoop of ice cream or that cookie. But I know what it is that I am doing and am taking reasonability for it....and then I adjust the rest of the day or the next day to compensate.

Love this forum and all the great people here that share their struggles and their successes!

I am still up 5 pounds from my lowest weight, 2 pounds from my goal. Someone kick me in the butt. Staying at son's apartment in Austin for a week, just shopped for a lot of fruit, veggies, protein drinks, and meat/fish. Planning on hiking when he's at work. I see some pretty hills out there!

As another "old dog", I find new tricks keep us moving! And same history; only one can cut out alcohol but food we do have to find a relationship with. I find denial to be way less comfortable than before the sleeve.

    Thanks!

Sharon, you and Ann2 and the other who travel -- its a whole world of difference than being at home where you have relative control (pun intended). I am trying to drop a bit below goal so I have some holiday room -- not to gain, but to "taste" a bit of traditional treats.

But the best treat is our health & restored energy! Hooray for all of us!
