    Default New and Hopeful

    Hi All,

I am new to this forum but was needed and outlet and somewhere to hear other's testimonials on the gastric sleeve. My name is Meghan and I am 32 year old mom of three boys. I am exactly 7 days out from surgery and struggling through the pre-op liquid only diet. I am currently sipping on vegetable stock. blah! I had a bumpy first week pre-op diet (2 weeks total) and am trying to lock it down for the last 7 days. I started at 231lbs and am currently 224.2lbs. Man what a rollercoaster. I go between being very excited for the surgery and then almost cancelling!!

I come on here and read everyone's questions and testimonials all the time. Its a great outlet!!

    Thanks!

    Meghan

Hi Meghan, Welcome! It is not uncommon to go between being excited and cancelling ~ I think we all had those thoughts. I can vow for myself it was truly the best decision for me. I lost a good amount of weight. Trust me, I still struggle, but it's easier being lighter. You will be fine. Keep your eye on the prize which is a healthier you!!!

    Welcome Meghan!
I think going back and forth of whether you should have the surgery or not is completely natural. Having the surgery will be the best thing that you will do for yourself.

    Hi and welcome.
The pre op diet was the worst part of the whole process for me - and even then it wasn't really that bad.
Keep your eye on the end prize - a new healthier, happier you. It is all so worth it.
Focus on the excited feelings - it really is such a fabulous tool :-)

Welcome! Yes pre op was rough and I had a boomer headache from withdrawal from sugar and caffeine, but at 3 days it went away. Getting your liver detox before surgery makes the rest easier so hang in! You'll be through it in no time!

I have a friend who had the surgery in January. I talked to her in August when I was in the "I'm cancelling, there's no way I can do this" phase. Before I even got out "I can't do this" she told me it's a phase and it will pass and I will be so happy that I did it.

So....it's a phase. This will pass. You will be so happy you did this!

You will make it through it, just keep focusing on your “why”. I am only a couple weeks post op and I have had some of those feelings.
