Default Stockings and metallic taste in mouth

Hi everyone. I am on day 4 and feeling much better. The only pain I have is my incisions.
Just wondering if any of you had this terrible metallic taste in your mouth after giving yourself the blood thinning injections?
Also how long did you wear the surgical stockings for blood clots?
Thank you everyone for the support.

I didn't have the surgical socks, and sorry, but I can't remember a weird taste after the blood thinning injections. But I do remember having the contrast meds with my annual MRI always gives me a weird taste in my mouth.

Glad you're doing better. It only gets easier!

Yay so happy you're doing better at day 4! It's all a bit overwhelming those first 48-72 hours, so you are doing great. I only wore the surgical stockings for the first 24 hours while I was in the hospital. They were those massaging ones and I didn't wear any after I got home. My main incision was painful to be honest, but it got much better by the second week and luckily, I never had any metallic taste so I can't help you there.

Just remember to sip, sip, sip, walk when you can and rest as needed. Sugar free pops were my go to favs along with my protein shakes, those might help with that.

Wishing you continued success, you're in for a wonderful and exciting time.

    Hi
Day four of a wonderful exciting journey. :-)
It just gets better and better.
I never had blood thinning injections so can't help there. Pretty sure I only wore the stockings while in hospital - 2 nights.
Keep doing what you are being advised to do and in a couple of days you will feel so much better.

The metallic taste is also from after effects of anesthesia, and I never had to wear compression stockings. I did, however; have that taste for a while. Brushing your teeth and tongue will help and it does go away. Continued success!!

Sadly, the only thing that has continued to leave a metallic taste in my mouth is my once favorite Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla coffee. Compression socks I wore only in the hospital.

Hi - my surgery was about two and a half months ago - yes I did have a slight metallic taste after injections but it didn’t last long. I had to injection myself with blood thinners for 9 days after getting out of hospital but they show you a good technique for that. I wore the stockings for a whole month - my surgeon was pretty strict about that. Moving around early and often is a great thing you can do to avoid clots. You’re doing really well!
