Default Kiwigal is back in town

    Hi all

I'm back from my fabulous five weeks in Italy. We had the most wonderful time.

I ate lots - cake for breakfast, gelato nearly every day, a bit of pasta, and everything else under the sun. There was no way I was going to have all that yummy food around me and not sample it. I also still tried to concentrate on my protein first. I took protein powder and bars and there were always eggs and a selection of meat for breakfast, and fish and other meat for lunches and dinner (chicken wasn't so easy to find on menus) - but I also had delicious pastries, cookies etc.

I stepped onto the scales with a bit of trepidation yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to find that I was 2 kg's lighter than when I went away! It's a miracle!!!!! The only reason that I managed that was because we walked everywhere and averaged 10km most days - a couple of days it was 15km. Now I am back to my normal routine and it's actually really nice. I'm looking forward to my cottage cheese for lunch :-)

We did a fabulous walk when we were on the Amalfi Coast - The walk of the Gods - Il Sentiero degli Dei. It was 1500 steps to get to the track, then a 8km walk and then 1700 steps to get back down. We didn't do the walk down - it was so hot and we had had enough by then so we caught the bus back to Positano. The view from the top of the walk was stunning. Hopefully I added a photo.

I will try and catch up with what has been going on with everyone over the next few days - need to try and get a bit of work done too :-0

Oh Dutchie, welcome back! I'm tickled you enjoyed every single thing that was offered, from the climb, to the people, to the food! Way to live the life your sleeve has helped you have!

I would like to do the San Juan Diego pilgrimage in Spain -- but I would have to get on an airplane. I haven't flown since 1987. (Long story). We even have incredibly close friends with whom we could stay and do an entire month their. Fortunately, they get on the airplane and come here! (In fact, we are expecting them in November.)

Hugs and happiness you're back with us. Enjoy your cottage cheese!

    Hi girl, welcome back!
Sounds like you had the greatest time!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Thank you for responding to my question. I didn't think that I would find a response to my question here so quickly.
