Hi all
I'm back from my fabulous five weeks in Italy. We had the most wonderful time.
I ate lots - cake for breakfast, gelato nearly every day, a bit of pasta, and everything else under the sun. There was no way I was going to have all that yummy food around me and not sample it. I also still tried to concentrate on my protein first. I took protein powder and bars and there were always eggs and a selection of meat for breakfast, and fish and other meat for lunches and dinner (chicken wasn't so easy to find on menus) - but I also had delicious pastries, cookies etc.
I stepped onto the scales with a bit of trepidation yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to find that I was 2 kg's lighter than when I went away! It's a miracle!!!!! The only reason that I managed that was because we walked everywhere and averaged 10km most days - a couple of days it was 15km. Now I am back to my normal routine and it's actually really nice. I'm looking forward to my cottage cheese for lunch :-)
We did a fabulous walk when we were on the Amalfi Coast - The walk of the Gods - Il Sentiero degli Dei. It was 1500 steps to get to the track, then a 8km walk and then 1700 steps to get back down. We didn't do the walk down - it was so hot and we had had enough by then so we caught the bus back to Positano. The view from the top of the walk was stunning. Hopefully I added a photo.
I will try and catch up with what has been going on with everyone over the next few days - need to try and get a bit of work done too :-0
