Cool I think I am a vain person

Just a soul-bearing thought this morning.
I think I may be vain. I seem to be pretty focused on making sure hair, makeup and clothes make sense, even if I'm going no place that day (retired). I don't think vanity is a good thing...

I went through a period post sleeve where I wasn't concerned about anything like that, other than being clean and comfortable, lol.

Does this mean I am getting comfortable with my size change?

I think the life-myth I was carrying around was at some point in my life I just woke up gorgeous and put together with no effort. Now suspecting that was not true, lol.

Sorry for the ramble - up since 4 with lots of coffee!

    *giggle*

I think we are entitled to be a little vain.
I think it means we feel good about ourselves and want to show that.
But like everything else in life: all in moderation.
i don't see anything bad in it.
We have a new lease on life, and we are proud of it.
    I know I am!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

I think we're all a little vain because of this new lease on life, the sleeve. We were so used to hiding from photos we could hardly find a "before." Now people are probably sick of seeing my photos. My Facebook posts are sort of like the Sharon show. So I'm right there with you friend.

What you call vanity, I call confidence.

We have been swimming in a fat shaming world for decades, so what's wrong with enjoying your new appearance?
I say good for you! In my book, taking care of your body, feeling better about yourself is also taking care of your family, because a mother/grandmother is a pillar for her family.

Life is too short to feel guilty about being proud of your success. Enjoy your make up, clothes and accessories! Cheers!

    Ann,
I think it means that we finally feel good about ourselves. I think being confident is just an added benefit of the sleeve. Nothing wrong with it at all!

Annie, you worked really hard to get where you are today. There is nothing wrong with being proud of your accomplishment and presenting the best “you” that you can. If you’re spending over an hour getting ready every day I might be concerned, but putting on nice clothes, makeup and doing your hair is simply having respect for yourself. If you’re like me, at my heaviest I really didn’t want to be noticed and preferred to fade into the background.
What irritates me much more than a possibly vain person are those who go out as total slobs. For the last several years I’ve been thinking, “When did it become acceptable to go out in public wearing pajamas?” Big or small sweatpants belong at home, while out exercising, or in the gym. Just my two cents.

Like the song says, "What's Wrong With Being Confident"... I too, think we're confident to a greater degree after surgery and why not be vain... I like looking the way I am now, although I'd like to subtract about 20 years off the face seriously, you're a beautiful woman and you should "rock it" whenever you have the desire!!

Giggling at the comment about going out in pajamas... as I just got in from being out in my pajamas Some days I get myself dressed up, and other days I roll out of the house in my Halloween sleep pants and my hair haphazardly tossed in a pony. In neither of those clothing selections am I concerned about what anyone else thinks of my attire. I can be as vain as anyone else, but my happy place is slob city
