    Default Puree stage

I started my pureed stage yesterday and today I totally cheated! I feel so bad. I had a couple of bites of a cookie and a bite of a pizza roll.

Oh Stacy, you are still healing and need to be careful. But you're a grown up, so good on you for taking responsibility. I was too scared of not losing to do anything but follow stuff to the letter, and at almost two years out, I still measure, count and weigh everything.

Do be kind to your stomach as it heals. And if you get the craving, try EggFace link http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.bl...3/recipes.html She has tasty wonderful things for each stage, and easy-easy to make!

Hi Annie, I have a question for you. I actually have many questions about before and after surgery but this one is important to me as I make my final decision. You said that you still measure, count, and weight your food. Does this mean that you only eat about 1/2 cup of protein and about 1/4 - 1/2 of vegies for each meal? and is this 3 times a day with no snacks inbetween? The reason I am asking this is because when I had the lapband I couldnt eat healthy things like raw vegies, salads..... it got stuck in my throat and I felt like I was having a heart attack a couple of times. Since this surgery is permanent, it scares me that if this happens again I will have to be like this the rest of my life. I would really appreciate it if you would share with me how much you eat daily. Thank you so much in advance!

I am not Annie, but here is my routine.
I also weigh and measure my food.
By now I can eyeball my portions pretty good, but the weighing and measuring keep me on the right path, my eyes were always bigger than my stomach.
I typically eat my protein first, after that my veggies, salads, raw, grilled or cooked and if there is room, I eat complex carbs.
We were not allowed to eat veggies up to three months and salads even later, at around 5 months I think.
    I tolerate my veggies good.

You can't compare a lapband and a sleeve, that is totally different.

@Stacy: why did you do that?
    After 12 days?
Not even cleared for solid foods?
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

There's probably bariatric support groups in your area. Realizing that it's the mental game that wins, you may want to get involved sooner rather than later.

You're not cheating, but you could be hurting your healing stomach. The reason they want soft food at your stage is so food pieces don't get stuck in the stitches or something and cause an infection. (Could be totally wrong here, but it makes sense to me). Please follow exactly what they tell you for at least the first 6 weeks. After that the occasional treat won't hurt you. Occasional.

True. Solid foods might e not the best idea since it's so early after the surgery.
