    Default Got the date!

    Hello everyone,
Just got a date for my Surgery 3rd October. I am going to have it in London/UK. I chose Dr. Andrew Jenkinson as I think he is a very good surgeon.
I am petrified, but at the same time very excited as well. I am generally in good health but suffer from heartburn a bit.
Any tips for the hospital will be greatly appreciated.
I am 95kg and dreaming to be 55kg. I will do everything to reach that goal. I
    I hope everything goes well.
This is such a great group, so informative and supporting.

I'm excited for you! And nerves are normal, but it is, as surgery goes, pretty straightforward. I didn't take much with me, and truly, all I did was sleep and walk. And walk, and sip, and sleep. Not in that order. So if you use night creams, or have special slippers, maybe take those. Best to you -- my two year "surgiversary" is Oct 5th. Only regret is I didn't do it sooner!

    Exciting!
It is totally normal to feel nervous.
    As for tips:
Take a little pillow with you, to tuck between your stomach and the seat belt of the car on your way back home.
Ask the surgeon to push the gas out, before they close you up.
Wear loose fitted clothes, like sweat pants and shirts and maybe a sport bra.

And sit back and enjoy the ride!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Congratulations on getting your surgery date! It's going to be an exciting, wild ride. My best advice for going to the hospital is lip balm, travel pillow and comfortable slippers. You really won't need much else. I also made sure I had what I would need over the next few weeks already purchased for the most part. I think plenty of water, rest and walking as soon/often as possible is the best medicine.

Good luck and keep us posted.

You will have no regrets! Congratulations! I had my surgery early October 6 years ago and have been enjoying life as a healthy, regular sized person for 5 years now. All it takes is dedication to doing what your surgeon/nutritionist tell you to do. The weight literally falls off. I can't even describe how much fun it is!

I have to tell you even before I decided to go for the operation I was reading your posts for encouragement. You are a true inspiration! Thank you very much.

Now I was super lucky to have no complications. A few people do. Let's hope your surgery goes like mine!

    Hi Dutchie,
Thank you very much for your advice. Just wondering if you have any loose skin? Your start weight is similar to mine. I am quite short though 1.57cm and 42 years old. I am a pear shape with large legs and upper arms.
    Thanks
