    Default I’ve wasted time

As I sit on my couch watching Spongebob with my grandson, I realized I have wasted 5 months of precious time since getting the sleeve that I will not get back. I was given a gift to help battle obesity and I took it for granted. Oh, I started out great following the instructions to the letter and the weight came off. Then I got sloppy, started stress eating at work, stopped drinking as much fluids, and moaned a lot that I was too tired to do any exercise. So now I wonder, why am I at a stall? Is this ever going to change? Of course not, I’m acting like the sleeve will do all the work! So I’m making a protein shake, turning off the TV, and driving over to a gym to join today. I’ve started giving myself pep talks. I WILL NOT snack on graham crackers and Oreos at work, I will drink my fluids faithfully and exercise will be the new activity in my life. I can make the time to do my hair and nails, but I can’t find time to exercise? NO LONGER! Today is a new day and I will rock this sleeve!

    You can totally do this!
You have overcome so much more than this.
Come on girl, we cheer you on!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

The last time I checked (I try not to weigh too often) I was 50lb down but I haven’t lost in over a month. I know it’s because I’m snacking without consciously realizing how much. I’m not complaining about losing enough weight, only that I’m slipping into bad habits and need to get back to basics. Started the gym Monday, I’m committed to doing this.

I went back to the gym yesterday too. I had missed two weeks between being sick and the US Open. Going back to the gym is a good start. Keep it going! maybe start journaling so that you can tell how much you are snacking. Sometimes when you see it on paper it becomes more real.

You've got this because you saw what you were (or weren't doing)....back to basics, yes. And I had to remind myself to chew my nickel size bite 20 times, put down the fork (yes, clear down without still touching it) and then wait 30 seconds with my timer set between bites. It's help me go back to mindful eating, and to "hear" my stomach say enough!

Miss Lisa, yay for you on your resolve! This sleeve journey is so unique to all of us, nobody is going to have the same results. You've had the wisdom to realize that the sleeve is not a magic bullet. It is the tool to help change a lifetime of terrible eating habits and lack of exercise that made us obese and so unhealthy. I know you've had a lot of stressful things going on. but there's only one you. I have no doubt you can totally do this, just focus on yourself and working the sleeve.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but exercise is the key to continuing to lose. I hope you can find an exercise routine that you enjoy, it sure makes it easier. There is a DVD set called Miracle Miles by Leslie Sansone. It's great and combines 1,2,4 and 5 mile increments and strength training with resistance bands. It's really convenient to do at home if you don't like the 'gym scene'.

Best of luck to you, I know you can do this!

Attitude is everything in this sleeved life. You can and will gain if you go back to eating whatever you want and living a sedentary life. It may just take a bit longer to gain. You have to own it and work it. When they talk about the amount of people who regain a lot of their weight post sleeve it is not the ones who are making good life choices. It is the ones who became lax. You found your mistakes, you have owned them, and now go work it so your sleeve can work it's magic.
