My bad if its already been discussed ad infinitem....
What happens if you have carbonation?
I was never much of a soda drinker, but find I might occasionally want a Fresca or something.
Do we explode?

HAHAHA, Annie that really made me LOL.
I stopped drinking Diet Coke during my pre op diet. I haven't had one since, and I was addicted. I was craving one sooooo bad about a month ago and thought I would just try it and see. Well, I didn't explode, but it felt like my stomach might. I had terrible cramps and couldn't drink more than one sip. So now I don't even consider them. I think Sharon drinks Diet Coke with no problems, so it might just be an individual tolerance.
Yep, carbonation doesn't bother me at all. Haven't exploded yet!
Unfortunately,I have had no problems with carbonation. I didn't have any carbonated drinks for about a year post surgery (former Diet Coke addict), then I tried and had no repercussions so started back. Trouble is diet drinks still make me hungry. On those days when I don't drink (now Diet A&W fan) I find my carb cravings almost non-existent. Sounds like a no brainer to stop my one can a day dependency but isn't easy for me.
Thank you all! It does seem to be variable.
SINCE I am prone to the dreaded "toad froth" I'm thinking maybe I just need to understand that my wants aren't gonna kill me! But toad froth makes for a really bad day.
I WISH I wasn't a soda drinker. But I went from tons of it pre surgery to one diet soda a day after surgery. I could have worse habits, right? I quit alcohol, no problem, but can't quit the soda.
It didn't exist in Tanzania, but what do I do? Come home and start it up again.
My father (who's first language was NOT English, nor was he raised with US values), never allowed carbonated beverages, iced drinks or several other things that American kids rather take for granted. So I didn't really ever miss them, nor do I find I like them.
We also avoided most foods that were not "home grown", whether animal or vegetable source. And we had an orchard. Kinda makes me wonder how I ended up overweight, but looking at this thread, mine was primarily the culprit of some cross medications for mental health issues (didn't say we didn't live on the crazy train, lol).
I may try a sip of Fresca at my daughters (oooh Annie goes wild). But actually find water is just, well good. Who knew? I do drink more coffee than is likely a good choice, but not full strength. I get up between 4 am and 6 am and go to bed about 8:30 pm unless the kids are visiting. Just my daily rural life/work life habit.
BUT so good to know we don't blow up!
