Default Getting Back to being Strong

I am a Army Veteran and a Nurse. I have suffered with chronic pain. I have binged to deal with my emotions and to get me through long hours. My Dad used to call me his Corn Fed Tennessee girl because I was tall and muscular and strong. I want to get that energy back I had. I hope this Surgery helps me jump start my way back to a healthy life. I am seriously off track. Currently on Pre Op diet. I have lost 12 pounds on preop 279 currently , I measure in at 66.5 inches, ( I used to be 68 inches). I am in my early forties. Hopeful.

Welcome Susan, this is definitely the place to come and the sleeve the way to go if you are looking to dramatically change your life. I was so overweight and out of shape for years after being fit and active my whole life. I was beyond hope also. The sleeve was just the tool I needed to get back on track. It has been hard work and commitment, but it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. I just wish I had done it sooner. but it's never too late.

Good luck on surgery. Get your head in the game, follow the directions from your Doctor and you should succeed just like many other here on this site.

Welcome Susan. You're already showing you're strong by acknowledging that you need to get healthy. I used to be young and strong. Then I got old and fat. Getting the sleeve is one of the best things I've ever done for myself. Best of luck. You can do this!

No, I haven't lost 64 pounds in 2 months! It's been since October. Since surgery I've lost 20.5 pounds. I notice that some folks have signatures that have their HW, SW, CW, etc... Do you know how to do that?

Welcome Susan. Good luck on your surgery in a few days. Such an exciting time. Take some before pics and retake them at least every 2 weeks through your process. And take measurements and starting weight. It is awesome to have great documentation of your journey. We are all here to cheer you on. Feel free to reach out with any questions, if you are struggling, or if you just want to chat.

    Welcome!
Good for you for taking charge.
This is exciting, only a couple of days till your surgery.
    How do you feel?
    Ready to go?
    My tips for the surgery:

Take a little pillow with you, to tuck between your stomach and the seat belt of the car on your way home.
Wear loose pants and shirts, like jogging gear.
Ask the surgeon to push out the CO2 gas, before they close you up. That will save you some discomfort from the gas later on.

And for the rest: sit back and enjoy the ride.
    Good luck!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Thank you all for the encouragement. Start only liquids tomorrow. I am nervous. My weight is 278 so far I was 291 at start of liquid diet. Hope my liver shrinks enough. I notice thinner lower legs and wonder if they got smaller how much smaller is liver. I got my vitamins ordered shakes, sugar free jello, and shakes stocked up. Excited.

You will be strong again! Just follow the sleeve rules and it will happen, and quickly I might add! Keep a positive attitude and make it fun. Hubby and I just climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro at 62 ad 64, and that took a whole lot of strength, mentally and physically. There's a whole new world out there friend, and it is beyond your wildest dreams. Looking forward to hearing bout your adventure to health!!
