    Red face Officially a sleever!!

I did it! Finally on the other side of surgery! I was very very lucky as I bounced back like a boss. I have a little pain on my left side but tylenol seems to take that away. I am discharged and DH is driving me home so I thought that I would update.

I did everything that I learned on this forum and even in the recovery area before I got to my room the nurse let me walk a bit. Then I walked and walked AND walked.

I walked nearly 2miles around the floor where my room was and it helped me work out the gas and discomfort after having my full liquids. It made me feel so much better!

Everyone at the hospital kept saying how amazing I was doing and how I was a "rock star " which made me feel great but it was because of all the great advice here on this forum that I did so well. I was beyond prepared and nothing was a surprise to me . So thank you everyone!!!

One more step conquered on this journey!

Thanks.. I'm taking it a bit lighter at home and I'm glad that I got the protein sampler packs that were suggested on this forum because they go down much easier than the shakes.

    Welcome to the loser's bench!
Tonight you'll be sleeping in your own bed, whoop, whoop!
As for the rest, you already know the drill: sip, walk, rest, repeat.
    Best of luck!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

    Welcome to the sleeved side!!!

I’m happy to hear that everything went smoothly and that you’re doing great.

    Please keep us updated.

If you’re talking about the Syntrax Nectar sampler pack, they (and Isopure) were the only ones I could stomach.

As Simonne said...sip, walk, rest, repeat.

    Take measurements and pictures!

Your positive attitude will help you along. The Joy is in the Journey! ;-)

Yes Syntrax Nectar packs are THE best. Everything else seems so thick. But they go down easy. And I have a ton of flavors in the sampler package which made me happy too.

So far I'm doing this thing where I walk around while I am sipping from a 1/4th cup measuring cup . It seems to settle easier and let you burp more so no trapped gas. So I am doing that during my liquid intake times for now. I seem to also get 6-8 ounces of liquid down in 30 minutes so I am going to keep going.

Feeling better today than yesterday and am looking forward to tomorrow.

I still drink Nectar every day.

What a great idea...walking AND sipping. It makes so much sense. I’m happy to hear that it’s made liquid intake easier. Please be sure to note this. It may come in handy some day...if not for you, for others ;-)

    You GO girl!!! ;-)

Yay for you Kismet!!! I knew you'd be bouncing back like a Rockstar. You've got such a wonderful, positive attitude and that goes a long way to recovery in my opinion. Just remember to follow your Dr.'s post op instructions to the letter. It is important to remember that your tummy is recovering from losing the other 80% LOL. Slow and steady wins the race!!
