    Default Phase 3

Next week I move on to phase 3 puréed foods. I am interested in incorporating can tuna fish and chicken breast. If anybody out there is eating the stuff can you tell me if you want it through the food processor or what your recipes are? Are you just eating from the can with some mayo?

These are the recipes I used:

    https://bariatricbits.com/classic-pureed-tuna-salad/

    https://bariatricbits.com/low-fat-ch...-puree-recipe/

I bought a mini food processor and I still use it.

    I hope this helps ;-)

I just remembered...Refried beans (fat free) are a great source of protein and work well at this stage.

Bariatricbits website has a lot of really good recipes for sleevers.

I used to just smash it up with some mayo. I also did scrambled eggs, Oikos Triple Zero Greek yogurt, and anything my family ate (meat wise) either cut up very small with some broth on it or pureed up a bit with a manual food processor. My nutritionist said as long as it is not big chunks you can eat anything during the pureed phase that is made really small. Granted, I was only eating about 2 to 3 bites at that point.

Keep everything moist, use plain greek yogurt in place of mayo if you'd like, although I used mayo and still like it in my tuna, chicken, egg salads. The refried beans w/cheese, and a dollop of sour cream was one of my faves. Wendy's chili smashed around goes well also. I never blended or mashed the meat up, just kept the foods soft and moist. Hard boiled eggs w/mayo and black pepper were my fave along with Greek yogurt mixed w/some unsweetened apple sauce was good for me. Keep it small and simple, and move slowly from one food to another, variety is not your friend at this point Keep it simple and nourishing

When I eat tuna, I always use light Mayo and NF Greek Yogurt. it's a good combo without all the extra calories.

A couple of my favorites are black beans cooked in vegetable broth and seasoned with cumin and sumac. Also low fat cottage cheese with just a bit of sugar free jam mixed in for a little fruit flavor.

I never put anything in a blender. I did try baby food - HUGE mistake.

Here's the list I got for that stage:

Cottage Cheese (low fat or fat free)
    Eggs (do not fry)
    Yogurt, Greek, low-fat (no chunks)
    Yogurt, light (no chunks)
Pureed beans or lentils (may eat reduced-fat or fat-free refried beans)
    Ricotta cheese
    Sugar-Free Pudding
Thin cream of wheat, cream of rice or Malt-O Meal®
    Pureed oatmeal
Pureed soups (choose broth-based or reduced-fat cream soups without meat)
Potato (mashed, boiled, or baked; do not fry)
Pureed cooked vegetables, peeled (no skin, no seeds)
Pureed fruits, peeled (no skin, no seed [no berries], no citrus fruits). May add no added sugar applesauce

    Hi Larman,
I have a couple of soft pureed food recipes you can just search on my screen name and they will come up. I lived on canned chicken breast and tuna, lots of fish, eggs (all ways). I did mix my chicken and whatever I was using all together in a small blender (the bullet) and it was perfect.

You're making great progress already, keep it up!
