Day 2 Post Surgery

So grateful to be on the other side of the surgery. It went better than expected. Very difficult to get fluids, water or protein but I can only hope to do a bit better every day. Trying to stay organized because of the many things that need to be done; water, protein, medicine, preparation of food, spirometer, rest, temp, BP etc. A bit nervous about the # of pills I have to take each day. Not sure how much time I have to wait in-between. Stairs have been easy. So many unnecessary worries prior to actual surgery. Hope to hear from others going through same phase. It does get a little overwhelming at first, everything you need to learn, but before you know it it will become second nature.

Could any of your pills be crushed or ordered in liquid form? Pills aren't easy those first weeks.

I’m grateful I had my husband by my side to help keep it all organized until I could get a handle on it all.

Time between each pill-taking is a question for your Dr/Bari Team. I’m not able to take pills. My Dr prescribes meds in liquid form.

Please keep us updated. It sounds like you’re doing great ;-)

Hang in there Carol. Before you know it things will come instinctually. Just remember that protein shakes count towards your protein and fluid goals. All fluids count, not just water. You got this!!
