1 Day Out

Hi everyone. I had my sleeve and hiatal hernia repair yesterday. Everything went good with the surgeries. Most of my pain now is from the hernia repair, (which definitely doesn’t feel good. I had temporary mesh and sutures put in to repair the muscle.) This morning I’ve been able to eat a little over half a sugar free popsicle and am now dipping my water. I was able to tat my meds with a sip of water today, they had me take each medicine 2 minutes apart. I will say the capsule (not time released already checked) hit a little hard. Could possibly be where my throat was still dry. Just wanted to tell you all about my journey so far. I’ll update in my blog after my one week appointment, unless o need advice before then☺️

I’m so happy to hear that you’re doing well. As Dutchie said, “Sip, walk, rest, repeat.”

Perhaps you could inquire about a liquid version of the capsule med.

Sugar free popsicles were my best friends ;-)

I would ask about a different capsule, that sounds like a lot to swallow the day after surgery. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Glad to hear everything went well.

Yay for you!! Congratulations on your sleeve and get ready for the ride of a lifetime. It's a wonderful journey and better health and good things are coming your way. It sounds like everything went smoothly for you.

Be sure to sip, walk, and rest for the first few days. Go slow and follow your Dr.'s orders to the letter. You'll do great.

Sounds like things are going good so far. The pill issue could possibly be from the intubation during surgery as well. I know my throat was sore from it. I would see if possibly there is another way to take the medicine. Also, depending on what it is....you may not need it much longer. I know for example, most people get off their BP meds immediately. So make sure you talk to your doctor so they can monitor your meds. Congrats on your surgery and looking forward to your journey.
