    Default One week out

    Hi,
Had the gastrectomy on the 24th and things are going well. Of course, the first day sucked but probably not as bad as it could have been because, I requested a designer Anti-Nausia med preemptively. I’m seriously glad I researched because the CNRA was a little hesitant to order my drug but I twisted her arm. Anyway, stayed at the hospital 1 night and stopped taking pain meds on day 3. I also started full liquids on day 3 and felt a lot better. All in all no real bad food cravings and am starting to love being sleeved. I went ahead and divorced myself from fattening foods and am fully ready for this new healthier chapter in my life. . Njo

    Neal,

    Welcome to the loser’s bench!

Good for you for getting what you needed meds-wise. Sometimes you have to be insistent.

    On the inspirational side...

I didn’t believe I would ever ride a motorcycle again. Pre-VSG, I hadn’t been able to ride in a couple of years. This was heartbreaking for me...I’ve been riding since age 14.

    Post-VSG, I’m riding my Harley like I stole it...on average 20,000 miles a year!

If I can do this after severe complications, 5 surgeries and 4.5 months in hospital...you’ll be piloting again in no time!

Easy Does It, But Do It...One Day At A Time ;-)

This sounds very inspirational, thank you!
You will do great and you'll be flying in no time.
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Yippieee! Congratulations on your surgery, your post sounds so positive and that goes a long way in the success of your sleeve IMO. Great to hear you went through the procedure with little to no pain. I think you'll be getting so much strength and energy back when you add in protein and your vitamins also.

Be sure to get your rest, water and a walk as often as you can. You've got a whole new world opening up and it's been one of the best decisions of my life. I just wish I had done it sooner.

Congrats Neal. Sounds like you are having a great recovery so far. One thing about the sleeve process is it definitely gets a little bit easier each day. Wishing you continued success on your journey.
