    Default i need help

I am 2 years out from surgery. lost 95 lbs. in the first 4 months. my doctor told me that wasn't great bec I started out at 441.
I went into a personal spiral after that due to going back to bad eating habits. Its been hard acting like I don't care that I've
put almost 70 lbs. back on--but it hurts so much. i'm so disappointed in my self, yet I can't seem to pull myself out of this ditch
i'm in. my doctor retired so I use that as an excuse not to follow up with doctors any helpful suggestions would be much appreciated
    . thank you.

    Welcome here.
I honestly don't know what to say, what you yourself don't know already.
Get your binders and read them carefully.
Then start eating like a sleeved person should.
You know the drill, now is the time to get back to work.
You can do it, many people before you also did it.
    You can start right away.

-Throw all the junk food out.
    -Track and log your food.
    -Take your vitamins.
    -Drink your water.
    -Exercise.
    -Get enough sleep.
    -Give yourself priority.

Get your act together, kick yourself in the but and start now!
    You can do this!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

    Hi Michelle,

You might need to find a new bariatric team to help you, and starting therapy could actually make you understand why you are not losing, and even more important give you support!!

Also, when our weight is too high, sometimes they recommend a bypass because it's more efficient for higher BMI (mine was over 50 so I know that was on the table at some point).

Don't get discouraged, stay positive and try to find a good doctor to help you, a good nutritionist to help you eat what you like but in an healthy way, and with support you will be successful!

    Take care

    Welcome!

    DITTO the above ^^

Back to basics. You know what they are. Look at the weight loss you were able to achieve.

Therapy helps to get down to causes and conditions.

    You can do this!

You have already been given some great advice. I'm just going to offer some positive vibes and hoping that you will dust yourself back off and get back to basics. You will feel so good that first day that you make wise choices. You can do it!

I believe your sleeve still works. You are just not eating how you should. I'm 5 years out and still have restriction when I eat how I was taught. I don't fall for that "stretch your stomach" thing, because I haven't always been perfect!! I have overeaten and my stomach hasn't stretched.

You HAVE to get back on track, your life depends on it. I would also recommend a counselor/psychiatrist/anyone who could help. My primary care physician is very knowledgeable on the sleeve, maybe yours is too. Or look for one. I was self-pay so couldn't see my bariatric team after 3 months post surgery.

    Good luck!

thanks everyone. Ive tried counseling twice but couldn't be honest enough to say my true thoughts-if that makes sense. I have the fear that I have stretched out my stomach I have a great PCP -in fact I work for her. I guess it comes down to caring enough about myself to do this. you've given me
    much to think about.

I personally think that it's amazing that you have come here looking for help.. admitting things that you know that you ought to do or should not be doing. Now it's time to rededicate back to your goal and why you wanted to even get the sleeve in the first place. Remember those things that you hated about being unhealthy and overweight? You took a big step getting the sleeve done and I know that you can get back on track.

A lot of bariatric teams have support groups now which would be a huge help to you I think. So maybe start there and find yourself a new bariatric team who will work with you. Then jump into a support group and get that helping hand that we all need. You CAN DO THISSSSS!!!! It's time to go all eye of the tiger on this so that you can pull yourself back onto that good road again. Man 95lbs... remember how that felt? You can get back to there...

Try again and be honest. They will help! Put yourself first. You can't have much of a life at 400 pounds. Dig out your old materials and follow them. It will be so worth it! Start today.

thanks kismet. I've been beating myself up for so long for putting the pounds back on that I lost touch with the reality that I DID LOSE 95 LBS once.
and hopefully I can find my drive and remember why I started this in the first place..there is great advise and encouragement here and I am thankful for it.

This is so important... like the oxygen mask in the airplane, first put on your own, then help others.

Hi, I totally understand where you are right now. That was me just 5 months ago. The games I played in my head, pretending I was still on a plan and not visiting my doctor because I didn't need to. What a few pounds gain is no big deal.

Well I finally slowed my roll and took a good look at what was happening. I am 7 years out from surgery and for the first 3 years I was a model student. Then the old habits started creeping in ~ one by one along with the weight. I did get out my handbook from 7 years ago. I started eating like I was first sleeved, obeying all the guidelines. I am proud to say that I am down 23 pounds and am feeling more and more confident that I can achieve this again.

Get in touch with a new weigh loss doctor and go see him/her.

You are strong and you can do this!!
