    Default Had my op yesterday

Looks like surgery is today but as I’m in New Zealand it was my yesterday. Home from the hospital now - sipping and walking. Bit sore but that’s to be expected but surgery went well apparently.

Just had some broth - it was so nice to have something savory after weeks of just sweet things.
Feeling relieved the surgery is done and excited for what the future holds.

    Welcome to the loser's bench.
Glad to hear you are doing great!
Now go and hide that scale for three weeks!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Welcome to the sleeved side!!! Remember to do exactly what the doc says, and as others have said take pics and measurements and do not stress over the scale.
    sleeved 12/30/14 @255lbs Goal 140lbs
    3/3/15- 208lbs 6/14/15- 163lbs
    lost 92lbs in 1st 6mo
    9/10/15- 139 1/5/2016 - 128lbs
    lost 128lbs in 1 year
    4/4/16 - 123lbs 7/4/16 - 129lbs 12/3/16- 130
    still 128lb loss@2 year mark-11lbs below goal
gained 13lbs by 3 year mark weighing 142lbs
Gained up to 158 by 3 years 3 months!
    3.5 years back to 142
    hoping to stay between 140lbs-145lbs

This is going to be so much fun!
Just get over the first week or so and it will all start to happen :-)

Progress photos are always good. I also kept a pair of jeans that used to be tight on me - now I can just about fit into one leg! Can't believe that I was so fat!

Once you start to lose just buy as few replacement clothes as possible and buy cheaply. You will be surprised how quickly your sizes will change. I shopped at Kmart, Postie and the Warehouse. The local Salvation Army op shop did very well out of my donations for many months.

Thanks Kiwigal that’s good to know - actually I spent a couple of hours today unpacking some old clothes from the back cupboard and discovered some treasures I’d forgotten about - mainly as I think I had never really worn them - bought in hope of getting thinner!!

Well, there you go, the fun is already started!
I agree, don't buy too much in the first couple of months.
And save some money while you can, because you will need all new clothes, but also shoes, boots, your jewelry needs to be altered, tons of things.

As others have said, don't buy too much. It will get to the point where not only will your clothes not fit, your bras, your underwear, your pajamas and even your shoes won't fit either! It's a great problem to have!

First of all, congratulations! What an exciting time. Here's my first week advice, copied from another post I just made to a newbie.

    1. Sleep all you can.
    2. If you have a family, delegate meals to someone else for at least a few weeks.
    3. Walk a little, even if it's just around your house.
    4. Your only job is to meet your liquid and protein requirements. Keep a journal, or even just a piece of paper in your kitchen to count the liquid ounces and protein grams. And remember any protein drink counts toward both goals.
    5. Take measurements and pictures! So much fun to compare.
    6. Weigh only once a week. I recorded my Monday weight in a journal. Stalls happen, especially early on, and you don't want anything bringing you down. Make it all positive and fun!

    Hope everything is smooth sailing!

Hi - yes starting to feel a bit more like walking now - the winter weather is being kind to me and lots of sunny days this week. Almost off the pain meds too
As pain levels pretty low now. Still on the blood thinning injections which are not so much fun but necessary!
