    Default Lake Life

    Attachment 28341

OK, while I am a mountain lover, a week at the lake is totally relaxing! Here are some of my toys, but I no longer jump off the rock after breaking my neck a few years ago. Is stand-up-paddle boarding and kayaking exercise? I will walk, but totally flat, so not actual Kill training.

This is Up North, which is a term probably only people from Illinois or Wisconsin will understand.

And did I mention it's in the 70's here where it's in the 90's at home? Feels wonderful!

English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

    Beautiful picture!

    Broke your neck?!? OMG :-(

I consider any activity that gets me moving to be exercising...LOL.

It’s wonderful that you’re getting a chance to relax before your Kilimanjaro trip.

I’m also enjoying the considerably lower temps and the mountains and mountain lakes.

I thank GOD every day for the opportunity to enjoy every moment of this amazing journey ;-)

Totally agree, I also thank God for every day I have the opportunity to enjoy life! The neck thing was almost three years ago, so while I'm fine, I have now sworn off rollercoasters (my favorite) and high dives!!

I don’t remember the neck thing... I was fairly new then and trying to follow along. I’m happy to hear that it’s ok now.

High dives weren’t ever available...maybe medium at the quarry. Very brave of you...I’ll bet you were good at it too ;-)

Roller coasters are my favorite too...the bigger the better! Before VSG I couldn’t go on one without vomiting. When we were visiting with my son and family I tried it again at 6 Flags and I was able to fly!!!

You bet...Grateful for the opportunity to live life to the fullest ;-)

Love the photo! any kind of sport is exercise, actually cleaning is exercise in my book " as far as you sweat...it's good for bacon shrinking!"

More seriously, the neck thing was serious, I'm glad you don't have any more issue now. I had a car accident 25 years ago, someone forgot to brake and crashed into my car. I was wearing a cervical collar for like six weeks but had issues for years, and still today, when the weather is changing and gets too humid, it can get painful. Pregnant with the youngest, it actually became a huge issue at some point, I became paralyzed for 12 hours and had to be sent to the hospital where I got lucky, a gifted physical therapist was able to unlock my back in one hour. My husband was on the edge to ask for a medical evac in helicopter because we were overseas and in the countryside far from the capital...anyway, since I lost so much weight, issues are not that bad any more (in that area )

It looks so peaceful there! Yes, I would say stand up paddle boarding is definitely engaging in core strength exercise!!! Enjoy!

Looks gorgeous, I live on a lake so I am a little biased. LOL Isn't it great to just be out in nature? I find it so peaceful. I can't wait to see pics from your big upcoming hike.

We live about 5 blocks off a 500 acre late - but with 103 degree "real" heat and tropical humidity, it is not appealing.
I grew up in northern WA state (almost into Canada) and I miss the lovely cool clear waters filtered by rocks! It looks marvelous. A dear friend did a dive and resulted in a broken neck - we were in our 20's. He's been wheelchair bound since, although he's had lots of adventures and a great outlook. I'm grateful your's has healed up and that yours has only limited your roller coasters and high diving. Life is a funny old thing.

Looking forward to your Kilimanjaro adventure posts!
