    Default 9 months later

It’s been 9 months. Time has flown by. I went from 264 to 158. That’s 106 pounds! I’m 5’9 so I’m at a healthy weight. My BMI is 23 it was 39.Weight loss isn’t really on my mind anymore. I would like to get to a stopping place so I can really buy new clothes. I just buy what I need to get me through and refuse to buy anything expensive in the least. Health wise, I no longer have sleep apnea. I don’t sleep walk and eat while I’m asleep anymore. My old knee injury doesn’t hurt at all ever. I did have two significant illnesses since surgery. One was getting my gallbladder removed. Which is common with significant weight loss. I was really sick before and I’m just getting back to eating without being sick. I think both of the illnesses attributed to my weight loss because I wasn’t eating. So if you haven’t lost as much or as fast as me... I was a sicky. I now have to drink powder in juice to eat without immediate GI upset. Hopefully I can stop those meds. Regardless, I’m very happy. I wish I had before pictures, but I always refused to let anyone take my picture. If I can track one down I’ll post before and after photos.

Yay for you, that is absolutely awesome! I'm sorry you've had a couple of illnesses, I'm sure that wasn't fun really not be able to eat. It sounds like you're getting back to where you need to. Isn't it crazy about how fast you change clothes sizes? I've gone from 1X to L and sometimes M so far, and I'm like you in that I don't want to invest too much in a 'temporary' wardrobe.

We went to the lake today and I had a bathing suit on for the first time in years. It was HUGE, literally! I just kept thinking about how heavy and unhealthy I was. It really makes me appreciate the opportunity the sleeve has given me to get back to where I once was. It was so nice just to be out with my husband, laughing and hanging out. I used to not go because I was so embarrassed about my size and it was so uncomfortable getting on and off the boat. I basically just stayed at home, and boy did I miss out on a lot. NOT ANYMORE!! The sleeve has been a real blessing.

Best of continued success to you.

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!

    WOW! 106 lbs is amazing!

I’m sooo sorry you were sick. I can empathize.

You may not know your stopping point until you’re officially eating “sleeve normal “.

I had severe complications and didn’t stop at my goal weight. I’ve been at my current weight since my 1st Surgiversary. My Dr and Bari Team are ok with it and so am I.

VSG gave me a new lease on life and I’m sooo grateful to be motorcycle riding all over the USA, instead of sitting on my recliner thinking about it, hating myself and my life.

I can relate about the pictures. I found only one “before” picture. It’s on my profile page. I don’t recognize that Cyndi anymore.

Continued success. You’ll be able to eat normally and buy a huge wardrobe before you know it ;-)

Thank you! Yeah I went boating one time with my family and after taking like 10 minutes to get back on the boat, I never went again. This summer has been so much different. Best thing is wearing shorts and my legs don’t touch and there’s no chafing!

Awesome! I lost fast like you, but luckily without illnesses. I was 255lbs and at 9 mo I was 145. That was my goal. I kept loosing though, down to 123. Not good on me. I had to really start getting calories in and gain. So waiting on really buying clothes is smart. We have this tag sale warehouse in our town, the guy cleans out houses and clothes are $1 and I got lucky a few times and got some good stuff. Walmart and target are good too. Congrats!!! If you find yourself loosing more then you want be sure to track the calories, increase them.
    sleeved 12/30/14 @255lbs Goal 140lbs
    3/3/15- 208lbs 6/14/15- 163lbs
    lost 92lbs in 1st 6mo
    9/10/15- 139 1/5/2016 - 128lbs
    lost 128lbs in 1 year
    4/4/16 - 123lbs 7/4/16 - 129lbs 12/3/16- 130
    still 128lb loss@2 year mark-11lbs below goal
gained 13lbs by 3 year mark weighing 142lbs
Gained up to 158 by 3 years 3 months!
    3.5 years back to 142
    hoping to stay between 140lbs-145lbs
4 years hanging in between 145 and 150
5 year mark! ugh! Up to 160! Time to get back track!
