    Default 24 days post op

Quick question, the first 2 wks I dropped 15lbs but since then I've only lost 3 more. Is this normal? I started going to the gym for cardio last wk but my energy level wasn't that great. I took this wk off to give my body another wk to adjust. Tips?

Many of us faced the third week stall. You can google it it's well documented. Do not worry about your weight loss, it's not linear post-sleeve as it was "before with just a diet", but little by little it will add up.

My surgeon didn't want me to exercise before the 1st post-op (at one month) I was only allowed to walk. Drink lots of water to flush the toxins and compensate the weight loss. I know my water intake was mymain issue post-op, I lived in Asia at the time and I was getting dehydrated easily with the heat and humidity, but was nauseous for months and couldn't drink as much as I wanted.

    Take care

Sounds like you're going through your first stall. We've all gone through them. No need to panic. The weight will come off. It has nowhere else to go. Don't worry. Sounds like you're doing great.

Totally normal. Get off your silly scale and just keep doing what you're doing. (Seriously, have a family member hide it). It makes no sense but it happens to all of us.

I wouldn't weigh more than one day a week while losing. Make this positive and fun!!

I ditto all the above ^^^

Stalls are perfectly normal. Hide the scale, drink lots of water, walk...a lot.

You’re doing great! When was the last time you lost 18 lbs in 24 days?!?

Your energy will come back and you’ll continue to lose. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

Time takes time...enjoy the journey ;-)

They have certainly kept me on the road! I didn't have many stalls, and hit goal early and without all the great support here, maintenance would have been so hard! Keep it up! The journey is more important than the destination as my sailing husband says.

Oh man!! That dang stall. It happens, your body went thru a shock and it needs a little time to figure out what the heck is happening. You will keep loosing, it's often said when you aren't loosing pounds you are loosing inches.
But seriously, get that scale out. It can really mess with you. It really messed with me. Damn things
    sleeved 12/30/14 @255lbs Goal 140lbs
    3/3/15- 208lbs 6/14/15- 163lbs
    lost 92lbs in 1st 6mo
    9/10/15- 139 1/5/2016 - 128lbs
    lost 128lbs in 1 year
    4/4/16 - 123lbs 7/4/16 - 129lbs 12/3/16- 130
    still 128lb loss@2 year mark-11lbs below goal
gained 13lbs by 3 year mark weighing 142lbs
Gained up to 158 by 3 years 3 months!
    3.5 years back to 142
    hoping to stay between 140lbs-145lbs
4 years hanging in between 145 and 150
5 year mark! ugh! Up to 160! Time to get back track!

Yeah like others have said stall. One other thing to mention is you aren't getting many calories so cardio may be hurting at this point. If your body senses you aren't getting calories and you are active it'll start shutting stuff down to preserve energy and you will stall even at low calorie counts.

In other words stalls are more likely to be "Oh shit I'm starving let's save energy" than you eating more calories than you are burning. Most post op workouts are just centered around preserving and building muscle mass and being non sedentary by walking. Heavy cardio is typically discouraged, and some of our docs, mine included, banned us from doing it.
