    Default Soon, very Soon!

    Attachment 28328

Hope this is my photo in August!! Kilimanjaro baby! Now for the packing challenge, almost 3 weeks in 2 duffle bags, one for the climb and the other for the safari. But when you go 9 days without a shower, I guess you can repeat outfits. A lot. Plus we will be climbing from the tropics to the arctic, so shorts to every winter article we own. It's a good thing we are skiers. Time for my morning hike! (Training for the tropics in Missouri at the moment).

An NSV, 2 pairs of hiking pants that I bought this winter have to go back to REI, too big. Thanks Weight Watchers! I always hated you (when I joined and failed hundreds of times), but now I love you (when my sleeve prevents me from overeating and you help me track for maintainance).

    You can do this!
I carried 4 weeks worth in backpack for the Camino though not such a change in temp as you may have. Can't tell you how many times I repacked after culling one or more items. Does REI offer classes in packing for this adventure? Their info was invaluable for my trip over the Pyrenees and across the plains (in Spain) for May weather.
Best of luck and anxiously await your recollections.

They gave us an exact packing list which we will stick to. There is a strict weight limit for what the porters will carry. It will be pretty minimal. We will smell lovely I'm sure!

Hope you have an amazing time. You'll figure the packing out. I did almost a month in southern Africa in one duffel bag. I didn't climb any mountains though. Yes, thank God for REI. I'll be attending a polar bear field course in Churchill Manitoba in November and REI is my "go to" place. Congrats on your victories and be safe.

    That WILL be your photo!
    This is soooo exciting!
With all the training I am sure you are ready for this climb.
Yes, packing can be a challenge and you will smell at the end of the journey...
    But who cares?
You go and conquer that mountain!

This sounds like an amazing adventure, I admire you sooooo much. You've been a real source of encouragement to me here. You'll have to let us know all about it and hopefully share some beautiful pics.

Isn't it awesome when you buy something and, then by the time you need it, it's way too big? It's an encouragement for sure. I'm returning a few sundresses that now are hanging off.
