    Hello there,
I'm having my surgery tomorrow. I'm a bit scared.
    Any suggestions?

Welcome! I think it is perfectly normal to be nervous, but I hope you forge ahead and make it happen!

I decided already that I am ALL IN and when the surgery date comes I may be nervous but I will do it to achieve my goals.

You will crush this! Best of luck to you!

It is perfectly normal to be scared, in fact I was scared and wondered if I was doing the right thing right up until I was in theatre. Good luck with the surgery and it will definitely change your life for the better. Remember to follow all your instructions and sip sip sip. Try and walk about as much as you can after surgery and then once home go for a slow walk as soon as you are able to , if if it is just down the road and rest

Welcome and congratulations on your decision to have the surgery. It's an amazing journey and this is a wonderful place to ask questions and get information on a ton of things for newbies like me to the veteran sleevers.

Having the surgery has been a life saving decision for me, I feel like I have a new lease on life. It's challenging and it takes a lifetime commitment, but if you follow your Dr.'s rules and suggestions, you will be amazed. Best of luck for a speedy recovery.

We were all scared. The only real pain I felt was the moment I woke up from surgery. So it was seconds. I was in the hospital one night and slept most of the time, didn't even get on my computer, phone, or turn on the TV.

Pack comfy clothes and shoes you don't need to tie for the hospital. All I needed at the hospital was chapstick.

When you get home NAP. Sleep all you can that first week. I slept in a recliner because my bed was so high. When you aren't sleeping try to walk a little, probably just around your house, and sip your liquids and protein every waking moment. Teeny, tiny sips. Weigh yourself one day a week and keep it in a journal along with your measurements maybe once a month. Weighing daily will drive you crazy, especially at first when your body is totally confused. Also keep a daily tally of your liquid ounces and protein grams.

But most importantly keep a positive attitude and have fun! Best of luck to you! There is no way I can describe how amazing it feels to be a healthy, regular-sized person.

    Welcome!

All of the above! will help you but honestly, it's easy and you will find that as soon as your stomach heals that you really have made the most fantastic choice in your life you could imagine! It really is so much fun.
Its a focus on yourself like never before and ENJOY THIS!

The discovery of who you really are and how life can be so great!

The little things like realising that weight was heavy and a burden walking & dancing with life even feeling the energy to do more in your life like the little things home, outdoors you name it You will see!

The operation was the easiest I ever had and I have had a few! all on the stomach, as well as my thyroid removal I recovered the easiest from this one!

Looking forward to hearing more from you.
