Default Thank you all so much!

It dawned to me how special and precious this community is.
Here we are, from all over the world, joined together for the one thing we all share.
    I find this truly amazing!

So, I want to thank you all for being you and being here.
We all have the same goal: to make this surgery a succes.
For some it is a smooth ride so far, some others have a few bumps in the road.
That doesn't matter, all of you are so very supportive and always come with answers.
Sometimes sweet and gentle, sometimes brutally honest, and always candor.
And I appreciate that all so much!

And to the newbies here I say:
You may think that you have nothing to contribute yet.
In my opinion you are wrong.
Your questions, doubts, fears shared online to people you don't even know!
I find the trust you display mind blowing.
All of these things are precious to me, because they make me think.
They keep me aware and alert.
They remind me where I come from and that I should never takes things for granted.

So to all of you: thank you, I love all of you in our community!
And although I don't do those friendship requests, I hold you close to my heart.
    Just wanted to share this...

It is an outstanding group of people. I had my surgery in 2012, stayed in contact for several years. Went away for several more and now I am back. Back on track and ready to complete my journey.

It takes a village!! and yes, you are right, everyone is important!!
We have a lot to learn from each other, because that surgery is so recent, we don't have the whole picture yet.

I was reading this morning a paper about iron deficiency, increasing after three years. In 2014 everyone in the field was saying "the sleeve is safer" regarding deficiencies (compared to the gastric bypass) and now it seems the reasoning is different...

I think there is a lot they don't really know. I have had a feeling that vitamins are a real problem with these surgeries. Sleeve included!

That's such a thoughtful post Dutchie! I honestly don't know if I would have had the courage to move forward with my decision to get the sleeve if it hadn't been for reading here for many months before. I wanted to know everything I possibly could good and bad, and it's great to hear from people who have actually gone through the surgery and the ones that are 1, 5 and 10 years out.

It's a big decision and a lifetime commitment, but I wouldn't change my decision for anything. I learn something new here every time I come to read and I appreciate the honesty and integrity of you guys.

    This community is really special.
I love the support, advice, and the sharing of stories.
It's really important to me to be able to "talk" to others that know exactly what I am going through.
Having said that I am very lucky that, so far, it has been pretty plain sailing for me.

This place IS special! As I start my journey to get sleeved I read through a lot of older threads that help me so much. Dutchie and everyone here is so open and helpful and it helps me so much as I start to lose some weight,
