    Default Good grief!!!

How unpleasant to get on the scales and see 140 lbs! (Well, when I weighed 240 it would have been a wonderful thing to see 140 lbs, but not post sleeve, and over goals 2 years out.)

I've reviewed my eating, and I am close to on track on calories and macros. However, I recently had new medication added, and just looked it up, and sure enough RAPID WEIGHT GAIN is a side effect.

With doctor's permission, going off it (tapering). But durn!

So I'll be posting my LOSS again as soon as they start. I need the support.

The weird part is, my clothes fit fine.
    [I]HW: 240 lbs SW: 199 lbs GW: 140 lbs

    1 MO = 167.0 2 MO = 156.4 3 MO = 148.4 4 MO = 140.6
    5 M) = 136.0 6 MO = 130.0
    1 YR = 122.0 2 YR = 140.00 2.5 YR = 139
Happy with my weight; happy with my size; over-the-moon with my health!

If your clothes fit I wouldn't worry. Your health is important too. Sorry you're frustrated!

    Ann,
I'm glad that you found the culprit to your weight gain. My clothes fit too and I gained 20 lbs. Weird!!!

Maybe your Dr can prescribe an alternative med. As Sharon said, your health is important too.

Fat redistribution : that's why we can get heavier (also having more muscle can do that!) and still wear the same things!
I had to regain more than 20 pounds to see my suits becoming too small.
So annoying : but I know it's my meds who mess up my metabolism...a few years ago I would have starve myself and feel soooo guilty about the weight gain....now I know better, thanks to a very clever doctor in 2014 who did teach me that many meds do make me gain weight: not my diet!

But also I didn't really exercise for more than six months now with all my health issues pilling up, and I know it does make a huge difference..

It's tiresome when medications that we need mess with our weight. Often we have no choice but to take them
Good news that you will be able to taper off and I'm sure that those pesky extra ponds will be gone before you know it.

It's unfortunate, but all medications have side effects, sometimes lots of side effects. They interact with each other, and they interact with supplements, vitamins, and foods we ingest. They typically contain fillers, additives, and allergens. Certain people have alterations in their genes that affect the way drugs are distributed, metabolized, and excreted. It is so incredibly complex and and unpredictable. A person can take the same drug, same dose for the same amount of time and react differently to it each time. Weight gain is common with many classes of drugs and it really sucks. I hope the weight comes off easily once you taper off the drug.

I am off the icky med (faster than I should have but have a high tolerance for "discomfort"). And down 3 lbs. And the urge to graze has disappeared, and the "underwater" feeling.

Now if I could only see the endocrinologist before August, I might be back to normal!

    That is good news Annie!
I'm glad it was only the meds that made you gain.
Can't you make an earlier appointment?
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

    Great news Annie!

Sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the grease...to a quicker appointment. It’s worked for me ;-)
