Default Oh the Places You'll Go!

    Attachment 28313

OK, I'm spending 9 days in the Colorado Rockies hiking. First 4 with my hubby (to acclimate to the altitude for Ride the Rockies which he started yesterday) and now with my daughter and her best friend from high school along with my sister-in-law and her daughter.

ALL these 3 young girls in their 30's heard, "You are climbing mountains with your mothers!?! Seriously, how old are they?" I guess most parents in their 60's don't climb mountains or ski or do any of the other amazing things I'm able to do with my sleeve. Maybe they watch TV.

Yesterday was a 10 mile hike up past a lake, following the cascading Colorado river, to a beautiful waterfall. Breathtaking! Now just waiting for everyone to wake up to get going again! Oh, plus 2 more moose (I am moose obsessed). We had to wait quite a while for the mom and baby to MOVE. But I guess they live there, I don't.

Sharon this literally sounds magical, I envy your beautiful environment. I would love to experience it for myself. My step daughter lives in Co. Springs and I love visiting.

I'm on the other end of the climate spectrum, but it's beautiful here too with mountains a couple of hours in one direction and beaches a couple hours in the other. I haven't been as excited about being back into 'nature' as I have since long before my sleeve surgery. It really has opened up a lot of door again.

Enjoy the beauty and the moose(s)?

    Sooo happy for you ;-)

It is amazing how my life changed for the better after VSG. Your hiking/mountain climbing is my motorcycle trip rides...something I thought I would never do again.

    MAGICAL!

English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Sharon, I still love you even if you are superwoman! You and Ann2 have ALL the fun.

Seriously isn't it amazing how much life that sleeve has put back into our worlds? I only regret that I didnt do it sooner! But who knew?

How wonderful - I am very envious.
I wish that when I started my working life at 18 that I would have realised that once I hit my 50's I would be so over the concept of having to work for a living :-) I may have planned my life differently - but then I travelled a lot and had a heap of fun. I guess I'm lucky enough to have a well paying job that allows me to travel and do the things that I want to. I just want to do them all the time :-) I'll just keep buying those lottery tickets!

I'm 100% Norwegian ancestry, so yes I'm jealous! Been there twice. I think I was born to love the mountains, it's in my blood.
