Hello,
I am new to this community and just thought I'd say hello and congratulations to everyone who made the choice I made to become a better you! My journey with weight loss started in elementary school when I was the fat kid eating salads when other kids took the regular tray in the lunchroom. Flash forward 35 years and I was sitting next to my sick mother in a hospital bed and then and there decided I was not going to be sick and unhealthy anymore. I, like most of you I'm sure, had tried every pill, diet, program, scheme and plan. I lost the same 20-25 pounds a few dozen times. I started jogging for exercise and I did numerous 5K runs but the weight didn't stay off. I also have PCOS for those women out there who know what I have dealt with all my life, that has not been a picnic either. SO I DID IT. On October 24, 2018 I had gastric sleeve surgery and I haven't looked back (except I wish I had done it 20 years sooner!!!) I am in month 8 post-surgery and I've been basically on my own apart from a good friend who also had the sleeve and gave me lots of help and advice.I am excited to meet and hear about other people and their stories and to have a support system.
