Hello all. I guess just a quick introduction. My name is Joel. I'm 45 from Ansted WV. Been heavy all my life. Heaviest at 425#. I have been a firefighter/paramedic since I was a teen ager, fairly active, but with age the weight is wearing me down. I'm tired of it. I am ready to take off this extra weight and get to living my best life. I remarried 6 years ago and have a 5yr old son and 3 young grandkids that I want to enjoy life with. A secondary dream is to be a flight medic. I have the knowledge, experience and skill. Just too much weight. So hopefully I can get down to 220# or below. I am excited for this journey.

Welcome Joel! How awesome is it to have such wonderful motivations to get the weight off and start living a more healthy lifestyle? I am a month post op and I wouldn't change my decision to have the surgery for anything.
