I am wondering what everyone is doing to prepare for the surgery any tips or advice
I had everything laid out for me by my Dr and Nutritionist.
I started by using MFP to log everything that crossed my lips. I was allowed 1100 calories per day. That prepared me for healthier food choices. The week before surgery was a strict liquid diet to further prepare to shrink my liver.
Every patient is different and every surgeon’s team is different. Have you checked with yours for guidance?
Best of luck as you embark on this amazing journey ;-)
I didn't do a pre-op diet but most do. Don't stock up on foods, drinks or protein powder until you've tried them after surgery. Your taste will change and so will what you can tolerate. Good luck!

My tip is get ready for the time of your life! It's amazing just watching the pounds drop off. SO. MUCH. FUN.
Before surgery research so you know exactly what to expect. Follow the pre-op diet and realize that's the hardest part of the whole thing, but totally worth it. I would also recommend taking short walks if you are able, being used to walking before surgery will make it easier after. I found being in pretty good shape when I was fat made for a much quicker recovery.
Best of luck to you!
Good luck on your upcoming surgery hunnypi! I am one of those super organized, over analyzing freaks. I did a lot of the basic shopping ie chicken broth, beef broth, non perishable things beforehand. I agree that I wouldn't buy too many or too much of one kind of protein shake. I found that a few I liked before surgery are just sickeningly sweet now. I did buy the Unjury unflavored protein to add to propel water and broths for extra protein.
I took my pillow to the hospital with me. It was the best and don't forget some lip balm. My lips were sooooo dry. You really won't sleep and rest well as they will be in around the clock checking on you and getting you up walking etc. I was one of those that had to potty every 20 minutes because of all the fluids given in IV. I became a master contortionist to manage going on my own. LOL
