Hello,
My name is Danette. I am having the gastric sleeve surgery on June 6th. I am excited but yet very nervous. I am happy to have found this site and am hoping to find encouragement on here. And to find fellow WLS friends.
Hi, welcome here!
I have two pieces of advice:
1. Ask your surgeon to push out all the gas, after the surgery is done. It will only take a minute, but will spare you the discomfort.
2. Take a small pillow with you, to tuck between your stomach and the seat belt of your car, on your way home.
Good luck with your surgery!
Thank you. I did not know that they could push the air out if you after surgery. That would be great. Especially while I am not aware of it. I know with my past surgeries I just had to get up and walk. Since I will be in the hospital one night I will take the time to walk as much as I can.
