    Default Birth control

I never knew birth control was an issue after bariatric surergy. I tired to do two different online companies for birth control and found out gastric sleeves reduce the efficacy of birth control. So I have to go to the obgyn which I cannot get into for SIX MONTHS. I was reading maybe depo shots or the patch would work

I didn't know that either. Good thing my tubes are cut, tied and burnt! Lol. Have you tried the health department? Usually health departments get you in quicker.

Yup. Every surgeon I've ever heard of recommends not ONE, but TWO forms of birth control for the first 18 months post-op.

Some people have ignored this and come up pregnant two months post-WLS. Not a good situation to be in.

Oh my goodness. I read pills are a no go because of absorption. But the shot, ring, iud, and patch would work. I hope not two of them

I’ll have to check it out. My friend said planned parenthood. I went there when I was 18 and had an awful experience so I’m hesitant.

That's the exact reason why they won't prescribe a steroid taper pack for my minor MS relapses.

I found that weighing 530 lbs was the best form of birth control.

    Just saying....

In France they even recommend two years of strict use of birth control.
For some women the sleeve can restart their cycle after years of infertility but being pregnant before those two years could lead to serious complications for the baby (low weight at birth, and much worth).

My surgeon did recommend to his female patients to see a gyn before surgery.
One of the safest way to go is getting an IUD with hormones (Mirena or the smaller Keelena).

I personally would have never chosen to have shots, because it's a huge dosage and so much hormones would mess up my metabolism for sure.

birth control... Oh my wife convinced me it was easier for me so she scheduled mine about 20 years ago. Then she stayed in the room to watch and make sure the procedure was done.. I had my “V” on Friday and cried all day Saturday and Sunday.. damn I hurt.. but was told over and over it was easier on men ... so if I could explain the pain, u would lock down a form of birth control.

I’m glad I did it after about 3 weeks !!.... then I realized I was still buying birth control pills?? Was told she needed them to keep her time regulated ??....

That’s a whole different story ... but next month will be 32 years with the same woman.. so I guess we accepted each other’s shortcomings.
