    Default Just discharged

It’s done. I ended up being in the hospital two nights. Pain was difficult due to muscle spamsims. Took some time to figure that out. Trying to stay comfortable and sip, sip. I thought I would be hungry — stomachs won’t stop growling! What’s up with that?!

    Hi
Glad that you are home and feeling ok.
Your stomach has just had a major procedure done to it so it is understandably growling :-)
It is quite normal and will stop.
Just concentrate on getting your water in, walk as often and as far as you can, rest as much as you can and everything will be just fine.
I didn't feel hungry afterwards - actually I don't really feel hungry now (20 months out). If I haven't eaten for a while I start to feel a little nauseous and then I know it is time to have something. I'm pretty good with my structured meals so that doesn't happen very often.
All the best for a smooth recovery.

Thank you! I’m feeling generally okay. The first 36 hours were tough. The inspiration and encouragement is appreciated! I’m feeling a lot of complicated things right now.

    Welcome to the loosers bench.
    You did it!
Now it is time to rest, sleep, walk and sip.
You won't be hungry for a while, you just had major surgery, although it does not look that way, and your stomach is bruised and swollen.
So a lot of unusual things may happen.
This will pass, give yourself and your new stomach time to adjust and learn.
The first couple of days are the most uncomfortable, but this will pass.
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

My advice for week one - NAP! Sleep as much as you can. I slept in my recliner as my bed was so high. When you are awake sip every waking moment and try to walk a little.

So happy for you, on the beginning of a journey that will change your life!

I was in hospital for 3 nights and didn't drink anything until the day I left. Take painkillers, sleep sitting up and drink as much as you can. I used to drink my vitamins as my fluid intake and that often took me a whole day. Try and walk as much as possible and sleep/rest otherwise. The first couple of weeks are really tough, but then it gets easier and by the time you are 6 months out, you have forgotten all about the beginning hardship. Good luck!

So happy to hear you made it through the surgery okay! Believe me you will be hearing the most strange noises coming from your stomach ever LOL. It's pretty common from what I've experienced and read here. Glad you were able to stay an extra night if you needed it, I think that's important. Rest and stay hydrated, each day will be better than the last.

Don't worry Hosh. It will get a little easier and better each day. The noises are very common in the beginning. Sleeved stomachs can be noisy but usually the noises will go away. I still have a loud tummy occasionally. LOL.
