    Default Goal!!!

I'm a daily weigher and I've been drifting in the mid and low 250's for a month or two now. Kid's easter candy was not my friend! I'd started to creep back down again and was 251 yesterday. I got so used to seeing it and then going back up a pound or two I kinda expected the same this morning. But low and behold 249.7. Goal!

I've never really been this weight. I'm tall(6'5") and have a normally heavy build(my middle finger and thumb don't touch around my wrist). I was 300 pounds in 7th grade. Other than briefly touching 280 when I was 17 after six months of Adkins which rapidly came back after I even touched a carb I've always been heavy. Until three months ago I'd never shopped in the regular part of a clothing store. Ever! As a kid I was sentenced to the "husky" section. I hate that fing word. I'm still in the big and tall section, but just for shirts, because I'm tall! 6'5" with 30 inch pants means if I want to tuck in a shirt or not show a plumber crack still gotta go there.

My mom told me on mother's day that I was actually smaller than my older brother now which shocked me. He was captain of his college crew team and was always this 6'2" 200 pound athlete who had no problems finding a date. I haven't seen him since my dad died and he sued me over my dad leaving me in charge of running the family business. I know it's bad to take delight in such things, but yeah that made me feel really good. Can't help it! I'm not the fat kid in the family anymore, I'm the "skinny" one.

    Here are the stats:
    Weight: Consult March 25, 2018 393, Surgery June 25 2018 367 Goal Day May 14th, 2019 249
Neck: 20 inches to 17 inches
    Shirt size: XXXL to XLT
Waist: 50 inch to 38 inch
Dress Jacket: 60 Big to 44 Long
Shoe size: 15 to 14 (yep my feet got smaller)
    Ring size: 13 to 9

    Blood Sugar: 150 to 85
BP: 120/80 to 100/65(actually dipped into low territory and had to increase salt intake)
    Resting Pulse: 100 to 80
    Cholesterol: back into normal range
Knee pain: gone, even in Winter!
Meds: Statin and Metformin to nada

I'm still going to keep working at it. Another 10-20 pounds I think is possible. I'm also thinking about skin removal surgery. When I lift my arms I have wings of extra skin and I have a pouch of skin where my stomach used to be(well and it wraps around to my back). My wife got a mommy makeover after our kids were born and they removed almost 20 pounds of excess skin and I've lost a lot more weight than she had put on during pregnancy.

Had another big guy call me today for my docs number and it felt good to help someone else on to the path. I feel great and happy!

    Doesn't that feel great?
    You did it!
Congratulations on a job well done.

English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Hey, congratulations! So happy for your loss! What a wonderful journey you have been on! I hope you continue to do well with maintenance. I am 20 lbs from my goal, was sleeved last August; I'm supposed to lose 70 pounds in all. I have been a slow loser but figured it was because I didn't have as much to lose as a lot of others and I'm older, too. It's been so worth it. Good luck to you! Barb

First, congratulations! Reaching goal is so cool. And if you lose some more, that's lagniappe.

Lol yeah I lost a whole person. My daughter now likes getting on my shoulders at events and I see the other dads take their kids off after 10-15 minutes. For me a 40 pound kid on my shoulders is nothing, doesn't feel like anything compared to what my knees were used to.

That is awesome Jack! Soooo good! And you know what...there is nothing wrong with gloating in being the skinny one and happy that you are more slender than your brother with the chip on his shoulder. There is a reason your dad left the business to you and he should respect that. Keep up the awesome work. You will probably still lose a bit more so enjoy!!

Yay, congratulations so very happy for you and all your hard work! I come from a large family of skinny mini's so when I gained all this weight 5 years ago, they were mortified. I am the family fatty too......but not for long! Keep up the great work.

Wow - so happy for you! You're like a completely different person based on those stats. You are an inspiration to us pre-sleevers who may still be wondering if we are doing the right thing. Glad you're doing well and feeling so happy!
