Default Hello y'all - I've been MIA also

I got my sleeve in June 2018, have lost 45 pounds. I want to loose another 20 but slowly. My Husband has had 5 surgeries in the last few years and that consumes a lot of my time.

Anyway I need a little help, advice, has it ever happened to you.

About a month ago I was rushed to the emergency room with severe stomach pain, it was right after I ate. Those places are always a horrible experience. They kept me there running all kind of test, needles I hate them. for about 4 hours. They finally gave me some strong pain medications and I went to sleep. When I woke up about 5 hours later the pain was gone. They wanted me to stay overnight and the next day they would not release me until after 2:00. I was feeling fine the night before.

Anyway the same thing happened yesterday right after I ate breakfast. The pain was severe. I decided instead of doing what I did above I would take some pain medication I had from neck fushion surgery. Hydrocodone. 1 pill. Well about 6 hours later the pain was not so bad, went to bed with a heating pad. I woke up this morning and the pain was gone. I have not ate anything since breakfast yesterday so I'm drinking a bariatric shake. My stomach kinda hurts some and feels gurglly. I'm really tired.

I don't want to be told to go to the emergency room, or back to the doctor that did the surgery (He does not want to see me) The last time I called they just sent me to the dieatition…. no help at all.

I'm just want to know if any of you have had this happen and if it's normal?

    Thank you in advance.

    Bj

No, that has not happened to me.
But do YOU think that is normal?
Since you don't want any advice, I'm not sure what you want to hear.
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

No, that's not normal. If your doctor can't find the cause I'd see a different doctor. Something could be seriously wrong.

I agree. Totally not normal. I would go to your PCP and explain the symptoms you had. I would ask him to run some gastro test such as an endoscopy to see if anything is going on. Did you eat the same things when this happened? Here is what I found in my research. There are a few possibilities that could be what is going on. The most important thing is to make sure your PCP takes your concerns seriously. Ultimately you will be your own best advocate. Do not take no. If your PCP will not assist you, find a doctor that will. Maybe a gastroenterologist.

This has happened to me twice but not for the past 3 years. I had to go to the ER the first time because the pain was unbelievable- after many years I drank a cocktail of pain meds that worked like a miracle. The second time I stayed home but was in so much pain I fainted for a quick second...but I managed to work through it and felt ok the next day...that was in 2016 and I haven’t had a reoccurrence since. Never did know what caused it though.

    After many tests, not years.
