Default Surgery On Monday April 29!

    Hi everyone,
I just got the call from my surgeon's office to confirm my surgery on Monday. Have to be there at 5:30 am checking in. I'm so excited. I've only had one 'mental' day where I kind of food mourned all of my old time favorite comfort foods. I feel fine now. I know the first few days will be rough, I'm prepared.

You guys gave me a lot of tips like a pillow for my stomach on the car ride home, chapstick for my lips after surgery, a sippy cup to keep from gulping my water (I love water and nothing better than chugging a huge glass of ice cold H20), I have all my protein powders, broths, soups, etc. lined up. It's kind of comical, like the first day of school when I was a kid.

Thank you so much for all the advice and the great posts from all of you sleevers who have gone before. Nothing like 'talking' to the people who have experienced it firsthand. I'm one of those super organized, document everything kind of person so I have been journaling and taking pictures and measurements for my Journey Book. I hope to share some photos as I progress.

    Wish me luck!

    Mom ??

Are you a school teacher or ATTORNEY?.. You have done your homework and admitted to taking good notes and being attentive. YOU GOT THIS !!..

Remember it’s not bad, the pre-op is (was to me ) the hardest. You have done all you had to so stay focused, relax and keep saying “I GOT THIS”..?because you do !!!... it’s a journey and you well on your way .

I can’t wait to hear your progress !!... but I so want you to see the finish line between now and the time you get to the hospital. Don’t fret anything you’ve done it !!..... take a deep breath and say YAY FOR ME !!

You got to remember one thing “STAY POSITIVE”.. your attitude will be like the pre-op. Very doable!!.. but it will be up to you !!

    So Happy for ya

    Russ

I'm feeling so excited DutchSleeve, I wish it was Monday morning already. Sure wish I could fast forward time just a tiny bit. I'm not nervous about the surgery at all. I'm just ready to get the show on the road. It's been such a long process of making the decision and finally getting to this point.

My husband and I are going to renew our wedding vows at a semi big milestone next September and I am determined to get back in shape for the occasion. It's going to be awesome! I guess I probably should let him know LOL He's been super supportive, I'm lucky.

Thanks Russ, you're a huge inspiration for me. I love your attitude and I can't help but smile when I read your posts. I've got mad organizational skills, but not a lot of discipline when it comes to eating correctly and healthy, go figure!

I am ready, I can do this and I got this......yes Sir. This is my new mantra. Thanks for all your encouragement along the way, Hope things are continuing to go well, you've done such an awesome job.

    Yay for me!

Sounds like you are well prepared. Also one more bit of advice...if you don't do well with fluids at a certain temperature try a different one. My belly did not like cold fluids or sweet flavors right after surgery. So I did warm stuff like hot tea, latte's, and creamed soups made with high protein milk (Fairlife). Good luck. You got this. This is the most exciting time. Don't forget to enjoy the journey. Don't compare yourself to anyone else. We all lose in our own way...whether it is pounds or inches. YAY!!!

Haha that's my Cooper. He is smiling because he thinks he is a human boy not a French Bulldog. LOL My furry pal goes with me everywhere and honestly he has been so sweet during my recovery. Super careful and protective, he just wants to curl into me wherever I am. It's hilarious that he is huffing and puffing while going on my walks with me. It's like he's saying "What the heck are we doing out here walking AGAIN". He's going to drop a couple of pounds I think.

My little dog is exhausted too.
We are walking a couple of miles every day...
    Poor thing.
