I think I'll look for that organic raw cane sugar Sandra mentioned.
But that will be the same problem, not easy to find.
I have agave syrup, I use that in my brownies and other things.
I don't like the taste of honey, but I found a relatively nice one from Crete here in Greece, where we are currently.
    It's still a puzzle...
I prefer the organic raw because, same for whole wheat flour, when you eat the outside, you want to eat it organic to prevent the ingestion of unwanted pesticides.
If you can't find the organic raw, regular brown cane sugar can be good too, it will have a little less nutriments but still better than the empty white sugar, and still lower glycemic index.

Agave can be ok too! I never used it often and only at work the few times I was having bad coffee, but if the taste doesn't bother you...that's a good option!
Honey...yes taste can be an issue, but there is so many kinds of honey, if you can have access to a place where you can try it before buying, you might find one kind you like better.
I like honey but there's a few I can't have because it will trigger my reflux..

I think this thread is great, because it highlights the differences in our sensitivities to different foods. We are not all exactly the same. Nope, we're not. And what our bodies thrive on (or are poisoned by) aren't the same either. My own food triggers (physical and mental) don't bother a lot of people, and vice versa.

You are exactly right Ann! I have no issues with salad and have not from pretty early on. I have eaten a salad for lunch every day this week. Not bc I am on a diet but I have always loved salad (spring mix not that icky nutrient void iceberg lol) with oil and vinegar. That is just the Italian in me. I have yet to find a food that I cannot digest. As long as I do not overeat or eat too quickly I am fine.

Whoops...I lied. The Premier protein shakes make me queasy for some reason. I used to think it was the high protein but I can drink the Atkins low carb/high protein ones that also have 30 grams of protein with no issues. So it is something in the Premier brand.

    I think I lied too.
For some reason artificial sweeteners like Stevia make my teeth hurt.
I just made that link... isn't that the strangest thing?
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.
