Default CO2 gas and how to prevent problems after surgery

As you will all probably know, CO2 gas is used during surgery, to create a better view at the "work space"' of the surgeon.
But from what I read a lot, this sometimes causes problems like pain or discomfort after the procedure.
Did you know that you can ask your surgeon, to let all the gas out, after she is done with the surgery?
Soms surgeons do that on their own, but a lot still don't.
For them it is really easy to do (they just push on your stomach and the gas will come out, like a deflating balloon), it will only take a minute or so, and it could safe you a lot of discomfort.
    Just a tip.
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

What in the world?? I never knew that was something that can.....and in my opinion should...be done. Like why would they not do that?? It is super painful so if they can take 2 minutes to reduce someone's pain and discomfort shouldn't it be a normal practice?? Well...hopefully that can become common practice. Thanks for sharing!

WoW - you're right! This is something that should definitely be discussed with the surgeon. I would consider paying extra to be spared a few days of severe pain. Here is an article comparing 2 common methods used to remove CO2.

    Just bumping this one up.
I read some posts lately about the discomfort, so please just ask your surgical team!
