    Default Four plus years out.

    Hi
I am now four and a half years out and just wanted to drop in as when I was just starting I wondered if I would gain the weight back.
Well for the first 2 1/2 years I stayed at 130lbs which was 10lbs below my goal weight.
Now I am up to 146lbs which I am not happy about. I was too thin at 130lbs as I am 57 years old and that was just too thin for me. I am going to get down to 140lbs and stay there.
I have pretty much picked up all my bad eating habits again. While I am not able to eat very much at a time I can still graze on junk food all day long if I want.
I just started snowboarding a year ago. (In Calgary Alberta our ski season is November until the end of May)If it wasn't for the long ski season I would have gained more weight.
Here is a warning I am going to write about in a different thread "CROSS addictions" I picked up smoking marijuana a few years ago and the munchies is why I gained so much weight back!! I will write more about it in another thread.
All the best to those starting their journey. It is a roller coaster but well worth it.
Many thought I was crazy to do this as my weight wasn't that high,,,but I was headed for some huge gains the way my eating was going.
    Terrie
PS My BMI was 32 when I started as I am 5'6"

Thank you for posting this and being so honest.
This is very helpful to me.
I must have read a couple of hundreds postings like this at boards all over the world now.
Yes, I am very internationally orientated.

But no matter what country, they all come down to the same things: regain happens when you stop following the WLS"rules".
I am not saying it is going to be easy, but I have been warned now.
And as the saying goes "forewarned is forearmed".

    Thank you so much again!
    All the best to you!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

I just commented on your other post, I swear we have similar stories, I posted not long ago about the fact that I lost too much, down to 127 at 5'7" and looked like a bag o bones. I had the green light to gain, and I did, up into the 150's
Back to the basics and i lost it fairly quickly. You only have a few pounds to loose, the last post I said to start at the beginning using the liquid diet but for 6 pounds I'd do what I did and start up the app for counting calories, enter your goal weight and current weight and follow what calories they say you can have and your loose it no problem.
    sleeved 12/30/14 @255lbs Goal 140lbs
    3/3/15- 208lbs 6/14/15- 163lbs
    lost 92lbs in 1st 6mo
    9/10/15- 139 1/5/2016 - 128lbs
    lost 128lbs in 1 year
    4/4/16 - 123lbs 7/4/16 - 129lbs 12/3/16- 130
    still 128lb loss@2 year mark-11lbs below goal
gained 13lbs by 3 year mark weighing 142lbs
Gained up to 158 by 3 years 3 months!
    3.5 years back to 142
    hoping to stay between 140lbs-145lbs
4 years hanging in between 145 and 150
5 year mark! ugh! Up to 160! Time to get back track!

My surgery is coming up on April 29th and I'll be the same age as when you got your sleeve. It's nice to read some posts from someone along my same age/weight BMI starting point. It sounds like you've done a lot of hard work and you've recommitted to get back to where you were. Knowledge is power and I appreciate you sharing your experience. Thanks and good luck!
