    Question One Month Blues

So, I am about to be the person that complains..... I am so mad..... I have done everything right.... no cheating..... i lost 28 pounds in less than a month. Then i went back to work and started giving my hitting lessons again this Monday. I felt great... after lessons i felt like poop. I don't think i ate enough calories. However, (insert complaint)..... i gained 2 pounds the next day! WHY?????

I wonder if i am deficient in something? I get my protein. I get my fluids, mostly water.

Still holding onto those 2 pounds like my life depends on it..... I want them gone and about 60 of their friends too!

    Cheryl

Your body needs to adjust to the initial weigh loss. Don't fret, just keep doing your plan and it will drop off. No worries!

A stall is normal around this time. If anything 28 pounds in a month is too much and I'd bet your doc will talk to you about it when you see them next.

If you are losing too fast then it's entirely possible to not have enough calories to work out. I was averaging 15-20 pounds a month the first six months at a higher starting weight than you and got banned from doing cardio of any kind by my doc. Gaining two pounds in a day isn't really an issue. Most don't weigh every day. I do and can tell you I typically gain for a day, lose, lose, gain, stay steady, and then every week or so I have a day where I lose 2-3 pounds. It's the trend over weeks and months that matters. Unless you are eating foods not on the diet plan it's impossible to get too many calories at the point you are at.

You can also starve or dehydrate yourself into a stall which sounds like it may be what is happening if this continues for a few weeks. Your current stall is normal and happens to everyone at this time.

You just had major surgery make sure you are cleared for exercise by your doc before swinging the bat. You'll be tired after physical activity.

Don't panic and don't get angry.
    28 pounds is great!
Stalls are just another part of this great journey. The dreaded 3 week stall could just be visiting you a little later ;-)
As frustrating stalls are they pass.
Just make sure that you are following your surgeons plan. Keep sipping water, try to get your protein goals in and exercise as much as you can.
    All will be good.

For my mental health I stopped weighing myself daily. Small fluctuations are normal day to day. And not losing weight occurs time to time. You will lose the weight. The time will pass. You just gotta find a way to not be too hard on yourself or drive yourself too crazy lol. I’m still working on it but I’ve gotten a lot better.

You are going to have times where you don't lose anything for a week or two. You will catch up. Just keep doing what you need to be doing. Try not to weigh yourself often because that can be discouraging. Wait until you are further along in your journey before you worry about stalls.
