    Question Confused

Okay, I make a smoothie every morning and I record what goes in it. Half of a banana, 5 strawberries, 1 cup spinach, 3/4 cup non fat plain Greek yogurt and 2 ounces of water. I record it as 2 ounces of water but I'm drinking about 14 ounces by the time its mixed. Do you record just the water you put in it or the whole drink, towards your fluid intake?

I don't know for sure, but logic would say the smoothie is liquid food, plus water. So I would only record the water. But I'm sure other folks will way in.

When I put it in my tracking recipe calculator, its 199 calories, 18 grams protein 50 grams of fat and 31 grams of carb. You have fiber from the spinach, and I know things like lettuce are "water"ish, but I don't know how you'd calculate that. And thats with 5 strawberries being a weight of 140 g.

I forgot to add that I use 1 scoop of Isopure vanilla protein powder. 25g of protein for that as well.

Ok now you got me wanting to make a smoothie.

I been taking a Premier Protein shake, adding the "PB" peanut butter powder and ice cubes, then blending.

I really like them but want to expand my smoothie making abilities.

Think I'll buy some spinach and bananas etc. and experiment.

I'm trying all kinds of stuff right now, I have my consult 03/05/19 with the surgeon so hoping I'll have a "DATE" before long.

I so loved the PB flavor in my protein shakes pre-surgery but not afterwards. It took me awhile to find what my stomach could tolerate. I can't tolerate them if I don't put a banana in with it. I tried spring mix this week to change it up a little and I feel like it makes it too bitter so I will be going back to just spinach. I pretty much have to have a smoothie every morning for breakfast in order to meet my protein goal. Good luck at your consult! I know how exciting that can be!

I never ate peanut butter till post sleeve. Just a tsp full of creamy when my blood sugar is being weird. I hated it as a kid, and never ate it.

Whoa, where did the 50g of fat calculation come in? I don't see anything in that recipe that could come close to 50g of fat.

I am so addicted to peanut butter lately. Every night I have one of those uncrustables pb&j frozen sandwiches (sometimes two). I also bought some of these jiff bites that are peanut butter, granola, and strawberry. They're soooo good! I'm about to head over to our new container park for a Soul Bowlz loaded with peanut butter. I'm in trouble now that they opened a location near my house. Those things are incredible.
