    Friends,

First of all thanks for all the insight and suggestions. Invaluable stuff, right there.
Well this morning was "Face the Music" time, finally and believe it or not it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought.
I had it in my head for the past 3 weeks that I had ballooned up to 115KG (Not sure where I got the number).
Hopped on the scale this morning and 102.5 KG.

That's a 7.5 kg regain from my "happy place" at 95KG, and a 12.5 KG regain from my lowest weight since surgery.

I've adopted 16:8 Intermittent Fasting for the past couple of days and really seem to be embracing it.
I think I'm over the initial 3 day hurdle where it's said to be the most difficult.
I usually finish my last meal at 6:30pm, and won't eat again until 10:30 am the next day.
When I wake up it's a feeling of hunger of course, but also a feeling of intense focus.

I've also embraced the GREEN SMOOTHIE phenomenon. Didn't think I'd like the notion of putting a couple handfuls of raw spinach, frozen mango, avocado and organic coconut milk in a blender and chuggin, but believe me when i say these are very very tasty. You don't even taste the spinach, and the frozen fruit acts the same as ice. I'll break my fast with this in a couple of hours. The rest of the 8 hour eating window will consist of a couple more meals -- probably an omelette with veggies, and then a salad w/lean protein for dinner. I will give myself a free day on the weekends, but within reason.

"Head Hunger" is the real deal. Very, very powerful stuff. I've found the reasons for getting head hunger were primarily stress, and quite honestly -- boredom. I mean how many times have we strolled past the fridge, only to stop and open it for no apparent reason? I did it all the time, and it lead to munchies. It hits me the hardest at night, when I'm watching Netflix in bed. I've managed to knock it down by asking myself the question "Are you really hungry?"... I'll toss it around with my mind until eventually I just fall asleep. Once I wake up, it's a new day and it's gone, especially knowing breakfast isn't too far off the horizon.

I've re-engaged my initial goal to ultimately get down to 90KG, which is 2KG under my lowest post-surgery weight, however I'm taking this 5KG at a time.
Won't be weighing myself everyday but probably twice a week.

    Will update progress on here.

This post has really helped me out. Thank you so much everyone.
I am almost 4 years out and 20 pounds over my goal weight. I was 15 pounds under my goal at one point...but I just want to get these 20 off and see how that feels. I am lacking motivation and feeling like I don't deserve it because I am fat anyways and will always be fat. I am getting some counseling for how I see myself, but I just don't feel like a thin person. I feel fat.
Thanks for all of this. It helped.

    Hi Jaimaroo,

One thing for certain -- you certainly "deserve" having a healthy lifestyle in which you are happy with how you look and feel. After all, you put in the time, effort and the money to get this far. Your surgeon gave you a lifelong, physical tool to help you with your journey, now you just need to supply the mental strength and willingness to sustain it. These are the things I've really been telling myself, especially lately. A plus for you is you've identified that you're only 20lbs over your goal. That is no where near being out of control and you still can make a strong surge toward your goal without it starting to get crazy. Just remember, as I did, it's all in your head. The mental side of this is equally as strong, if not stronger, than the physical advantages of the sleeve -- at least in the long-term.

Thank you for that. I feel out of control. My biggest fear is gaining back the weight. I feel like I live in a state of fear about it. I am in counseling and working through the head games. Anyone who doesn't connect the head to the weight....is missing an important part of the process I think.
Thank you for reminding me that 20 pounds is not out of control.
    Enjoy your weekend

This train is MOVING. Weighed in this morning at 98.5 KG. That's a 4KG bite out of my 12.5KG regain.
As I said I'm taking this 5KG at a time, so my initial short-term goal/focus is 97.5KG. Hoping I'll surpass that by next week.

Doing it with Intermittent Fasting 16:8, with Thursdays and Fridays off (remaining somewhat reasonable on the off days).

    Ugh... I'm a bit of a stall.
Lost around 2lbs in 2 weeks, and I'm following everything by the letter.
Down to 95.3 KG as of 4/4. Hoping to bust through it this week.

    Hey Mike!!

    Congrats!! you are doing great!!

You know that stalls are expected and normal because the body needs time to adjust.....so it might start again soon....at the end before reaching my doc's prediction I was only losing 1 kg (2 pounds) per month...could be frustrating, but since at that point I was not sure I could lose more, I was actually happy...

But since you mentioned fasting, did you read Dr Fung's books? he basically says that when the fast doesn't help the weight loss anymore, increase the fast....or change it...for obesity (even if you are not anymore) he was talking about 36 h fast saying that's the one that works the best, meaning for ex stop food at 7PM on Monday after dinner, fast all day Tuesday, and have breakfast at 7AM on Wednesday...if you work those days and it's physical, that must be hard...

I must say that I got his books more for my education (I was studying nutrition on the side at that point, I switched for naturopathy) I never tried it myself, but would be interested to try when my stomach is repaired, because reflux is one of the only contraindication (that and pregnant, too young etc) but his last book about longevity made me want to try it later...not because I'm planning on reaching the age of 150 years old but because I had several tumors removed (in July and March) so far all is benine, but they have "pre-cancerous" cells around, which could be an indication it can take a turn for the worth at some point. Seems that fasting does help to manage those issues....so I will try at some point, not sure how my body will react...but it's worth trying..

    Take care
