Friends,
First of all thanks for all the insight and suggestions. Invaluable stuff, right there.
Well this morning was "Face the Music" time, finally and believe it or not it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought.
I had it in my head for the past 3 weeks that I had ballooned up to 115KG (Not sure where I got the number).
Hopped on the scale this morning and 102.5 KG.
That's a 7.5 kg regain from my "happy place" at 95KG, and a 12.5 KG regain from my lowest weight since surgery.
I've adopted 16:8 Intermittent Fasting for the past couple of days and really seem to be embracing it.
I think I'm over the initial 3 day hurdle where it's said to be the most difficult.
I usually finish my last meal at 6:30pm, and won't eat again until 10:30 am the next day.
When I wake up it's a feeling of hunger of course, but also a feeling of intense focus.
I've also embraced the GREEN SMOOTHIE phenomenon. Didn't think I'd like the notion of putting a couple handfuls of raw spinach, frozen mango, avocado and organic coconut milk in a blender and chuggin, but believe me when i say these are very very tasty. You don't even taste the spinach, and the frozen fruit acts the same as ice. I'll break my fast with this in a couple of hours. The rest of the 8 hour eating window will consist of a couple more meals -- probably an omelette with veggies, and then a salad w/lean protein for dinner. I will give myself a free day on the weekends, but within reason.
"Head Hunger" is the real deal. Very, very powerful stuff. I've found the reasons for getting head hunger were primarily stress, and quite honestly -- boredom. I mean how many times have we strolled past the fridge, only to stop and open it for no apparent reason? I did it all the time, and it lead to munchies. It hits me the hardest at night, when I'm watching Netflix in bed. I've managed to knock it down by asking myself the question "Are you really hungry?"... I'll toss it around with my mind until eventually I just fall asleep. Once I wake up, it's a new day and it's gone, especially knowing breakfast isn't too far off the horizon.
I've re-engaged my initial goal to ultimately get down to 90KG, which is 2KG under my lowest post-surgery weight, however I'm taking this 5KG at a time.
Won't be weighing myself everyday but probably twice a week.
Will update progress on here.
