93 days.....

In 93 days, I will turn 67! I am so excited! (I do like weird number birthdays, i.e., 1, 12, 23,34,45,56,67,78,89,and maybe 100).

I feel better 16 months after my sleeve, heading towards 67 than I felt at 47! The VGS has brought so much health, and consequently, joyful living by feeling better, and I am so grateful with all of my previous chronic health issues and serious challenges to be here!

Life is a journey; each of you has become a lovely part of that with your kindness, sharing, sage advice and humor.

A special "type out" to Ann2, sraebaer, Christie13, DutchSleeve, Kristina for their pithy patience and friendship! And to my dear Kristi2798, still facing some challenges.

May your sleeve journey carry you into adventures of life that amaze you!(I can't call you all by name, but you know who you are).

Isn't it unbelievable how much our lives can change, even when we are "a certain age"?

Annie, congrats on your pending “milestone” birthday!

I say that as I’m eating my two tablespoons of fat free retried beans and 13 days post-op. Think back to when you were in my shoes and look how far you have come - physically, emotionally and probably most importantly spiritually. It’s clear that you’re an inspiration to everyhere in this blog and I suspect a higher being has been in play here to get you through all you’ve been through and still maintain that willingness to help others!

Next week I turn 62 - and like you, Annie, I’m setting a way-out-there milestone hoping to still be contributing to this blog when I turn 80.

Isn't it wonderful how this surgery can totally change our lives if we embrace it and take all the opportunities it brings us?

Hi Annie,

I am an older patient just beginning my journey. I'll be 54 this year! I just want to feel good again. Would you mind explaining what SW means? I get HW (highest weight), CW (current weight), and GW (goal weight), just don't know what SW is.

SW = Surgery Day Weight Some folks lost some on during their wait per insurance requirements, so HW would be there - the day of surgery you might have lost some already
