    Don't quit the metformin.
I don't know about the other two, but I wonder why she/he gave you those instructions.
Even after surgery I was very carefully monitored about lowering my meds.
But I am sure there are others here who can tell you more about those other meds.
    Take care!

I think part of this thread is missing ---
As to meds, I was able to go off metformin right after surgery, per my PCP and baratric docs; I was able to stop high blood pressure medicine about 2 weeks out, per cardiactric and bariatric docs; I was able to reduce, and eventually go off another 11 drugs, with PCP supervision and conversations between PCP and bariatric.

In No way have I ever heard of any one being told to go off whenever they wanted to....your body gets used to something and you never know how you will react. Be safe, whatever is going on.

I think Grammy removed all she wrote in this posting here.
I have no clue as to why she did that.

Probably because of your honest post about following the pre-op diet Dutchie!

    That has crossed my mind...
But then I decided that could not be it, because this was a totally different matter and we are all responsible and sensible adults.

If there's someone here (probably me) you don't want to see, go to their profile and click "add to ignore list." They should be gone for you. Best of luck to you on your upcoming surgery! Sorry if you found my honesty offensive.

Or if it's not one person, go to Latest Activity, scroll all the way down to the bottom, and in blue you will see "contact us."

I think it is the latter...
But removing your posts from is not done where I come from, and is a reason to get a ban.

I think honesty is not offensive.
I may not like it sometimes, and sometimes it is not what I want to hear.
That can (and sometimes does) happen, also with me.
But I'd rather have someone being honest with me, any time.
If I choose to be offended, well, that is up to me isn't it?
So, if I was too honest, you may yell at me all you want.
I am okay with that, like I said, I am a grown up, I know where the yelling is coming from and I can take it.

Have you had your surgery yet Grammy?
    I hope everything is fine!

I have a dear friend for many years (we were both diagnosed with brain tumors at the same time and had surgery pretty close together). When you don't want to deal with reality, mermaids are where you go. They float in the beautiful sea, comb their thick gorgeous hair, singing and playing. So yes, I guess its like cocooning.

    Many people don't have that.
