Default Five years out...help is needed

I did so well, after a sticky start that is. Aaaanyway, I lost my weight, but I've gained 20 pounds. I'm limited in my exercise now. Have a pretty bad hip issue. I do as much as I can, but I'm not losing. I'm basically just venting. I know that for me it helps to keep up on "my 600 pond Life" (I had to lose 94 pounds), and I stopped coming to the forums. I'm eating healthy. low carb....lean meats, lots of veggies. I'm so frustrated.

    Welcome back!!!
It's a good thing coming back in here. It will help you a lot.

I'm 3 years out, did regain also, since I have been sick for a few months, can't move much either, plus had to take lots of cortisone...both combined is making me gain for sure

Anyway, for sure inactivity can modify you BMR. When I had some bad injuries in the past years, I got on SParkpeople and looked for those videos for injured people. You can find exercise video made for people in a chair, there is many options available. May be getting some arm exercise could help?

    Take care

Welcome back! I'm glad you came to vent. Not being able to move and being in pain must be difficult. Since you are eating in a healthy way, maybe your primary care physician or orthopedist could advise you on some PT type exercises that you could do while seated to limit pain?

Welcome back. As you probably know there is a lot of support here.
    Venting is welcome :-)

Is exercising in a swimming pool an option? Our local pool has group exercise classes, of maybe just walking lengths of the pool may be beneficial.

Well you have done what I had to do, I too had gained some weigh back, I found myself pretty much yo-yoing again. But it was such a great help being here when I decided to get the surgery and after. I thought this is just where I need to be. I'm thinking maybe we should start a group for those who have had a few years on them and now finds themselves where we are. I started working on myself once I came back in here and discovered I wasn't alone. Anyway. Just wanted to let you know I understand and will be here for you if you need me as I continue to go back down in this weight. Take care of yourself.

    MARCHING ON TOWARD THE PRIZE.

The struggle is real. I continue to sit at 4 pounds over my goal, after maintaining it for years. Haven't really changed anything I'm doing.

Why do we even watch "My 600 Pound Life?" To feel better about ourselves, that at least we're not that bad?!? It's sort of like slowing down to see a car accident.

I feel your frustration ~ the struggle is real and constant. Somehow we need to make peace and continue with our pathways to a healthy us! I too have an ortho issue going on and can't do all that I want to do. I find both PT and water aerobics is excellent for me. Check in with your Dr. to see if it could work for you as well. Take care.

    Sharon,

you exercise so much you might be still the same size and heavier because you lost fat and muscle is heavier? may be a scan (Dexa) could give you peace of mind and a baseline for later?

I did watch a few episodes of the show 600 pounds probably to understand better how obesity could happen to reach that level. I do feel bad for those fellow obese, thinking it could have been me...easy...was just a question of where I was born....and what food was available...
