Hi Cheryl, I wanted to let you know some things I didn’t know when I made the decision to have the sleeve. The Sleeve isn’t could to have if you have a history of acid reflux or have a history of hiatal hernias. It can also cause some to develop severe acid reflux. My symptoms got so bad I had to have a revision to a bypass at 20 mos post op. I lost most of the weight I wanted with the Sleeve and went from a couch potato to Hiking and mountain climbing. I worked out every day and loved it. However when I got so sick and couldn’t hike and climb was a hard time and unfortunately the revision didn’t make things better. I had multiple complications requiring surgeries. I was feed thru a central line for almost 2 mos and after my last surgery I was able to transition to receiving nutrition thru my G-Tube. I wish I’d never had the Sleeve and wished I’d had the bypass first. Happy to answer any questions. I wish you all the best

Welcome! I had ZERO problems. I thought the whole journey was easy and tons of fun! What could be more fun than watch pounds drop off faster than you can shop for smaller clothes?

I was sleeved at 57, lost all my weight in less than at year, and that was 5 years ago. I'm currently 3 pounds over goal but working on it, after so long at maintenance, for me at least, it gets more difficult. You are able to physically eat more, though nothing like you used to eat, so you have to really focus on healthy eating and exercise.

Best of luck to you. You will be thrilled beyond your wildest dreams, I promise!

Welcome. This is a great place for support and advice.
Zero problems here too. It is the best thing that I have ever done for myself.
I now weigh less than the amount of weight that I have lost so am officially half the woman I was - but living twice the life.

Welcome Cheryl. I am a little over 2 years post op. I was sleeved at 43. Lost 99 lbs. I am 4'11". It has been a relatively easy process. I love being a sleeved person and am a workout junkie. I have lots of blogs on my page if you want to read about my journey.
