I am joining on behalf of my husband. He doesn't do computers, but is interested in your forum. I hope this will be acceptable.
His name is Gary, and he had his gastric sleeve surgery on 1/30/19. He is having a real hard time with the acid reflux, and no being able to swallow because his throat feels burned. I'm sure he will be able to contribute a lot to the forum as time goes on.

WLS can affect the whole family so it's good that you can join in too :-)
Has Gary mentioned to his surgeon the acid reflux? Normally there is something prescribed to help with this and if he doesn't have anything he needs to get something as it is no fun at all.

I second talking to his doc. My surgeon, (had the sleeve on 12/20/18) prescribed a month's worth of pantoprazole delayed release, a PPI, and I was to take it every day for 30 days whether I felt like I needed it or not. Did not have the slightest hint of acid reflux in the first month or since. Pantoprazole is cheap, 3 - 4 bucks on GoodRx for 30 tablets. Don't self medicate, talk to the doctor but its important he feels as possible in the days and weeks immediately following the procedure.

Welcome. I had to take Prilosec for about 3 months post op. I rarely have any reflux now. Also, in the beginning I did better with warm or room temperature fluids. That may help Gary. Good luck.
