    Default 50 days post op

Hi All. I just thought I would check in and report my good news! I am 50 days post op and 45 pounds down today! I feel like I have an extremely long way to go, but I am very happy with my progress so far.

I am finally feeling somewhat normal eating except I have weird trapped gas when I eat. I feel this painful need to burp but I can't until around 30 minutes after I eat. I have always been a very fast eater and I think I have not modified that behavior enough. I need to slow way down. So in addition to weight loss, my goal for Feb is to slow down my eating and chew more thoroughly. I think if I do that, I will be able to better identify when I am full. I struggle with that still. I usually end up one bite too many because I can't find that satisfied feeling anymore. I will get the hang of it though.

In other news, the real feel outside is -12 here in in Sunny PA. I am ready for this polar vortex to pass. Hope you all are staying warm!

YEA, DOTTIE! You're doing so great.

Stay warm, and don't slip on any nasty frozen stuff.

You are doing just great! 45 pounds is awesome!

Eating slowly does take some practice. I eat off a side plate, and use smaller sized cutlery. I also put my knife and fork down in between mouthfuls. Sometimes though early on something would be really delicious and I just couldn't wait......If that happened I'd pay for it though and it spoilt the meal. So I really have learnt to slow down and enjoy. One of the things that I really had to get used to was eating cold food. I take so long to eat my meal that it has gone cold by the time I get to the end of it. I used to try and heat it up in the microwave as I went along but soon got bored with that. Now I just eat it cold.

Awesome job!! Keep it up. And I do not envy you with all that cold. I am freezing here in Texas when it gets under 50. LOL.
